Americans for the ArtsPivot TV, and the insanely talented guys behind Freestyle Love Supreme have joined together to prioritize arts education and its availability to ALL students across the country.

Freestyle Love Supreme is a ground-breaking improvised musical comedy show created and lead by some immense musical talents such as Lin-Manuel Miranda, composer of the award-winning Broadway show In the HeightsAnthony Veneziale, producer of In the Heights, James Monroe Iglehart, the Genie in Broadway's Aladdin, and Utkarsh Ambudkar, from the movie Pitch Perfect. FLS mixes fully improvised freestyle-driven stage shows with impromptu, real-world sketches set in NYC to create a unique comedy with no script.

More importantly, all the members of FLS directly attribute their success and path to the arts education opportunities they themselves had as students. They have asked all of us to take a moment and take action to make arts education available for ALL our students. That's where you come in!

We know the facts:

  • Arts Education has been proven to promote creativity, problem solving, and confidence building.
  • Students with access to the arts in high school are 3 times more likely to earn a four-year college degree.
  • Arts integration can improve school culture, as well as student attendance and achievement.

And yet, programs in schools across the country are in danger of being cut:

  • 3% of elementary schools offer dance
  • 17% of high schools require music
  • 4% of high schools require dramatic arts

What we need today is help reaching our goal - if we reach over 5,000 signatures, Freestyle Love Supreme, Pivot TV, and Americans for the Arts will send a message to U.S. Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan, asking him to clarify that the arts are eligible for federal funds for all schools.

Join us! Watch, Sign, Share, Complete! If you #LoveArtsEd, then now is the time to take action!
