FaithTrust Institute is a national, multifaith, multicultural training and education organization with global reach working to end sexual and domestic violence.
Who We Are
FaithTrust Institute is an organization of women and men from many faith traditions, cultures, and racial groups committed to the equality of women and men and the empowerment of women, youth and children. We cherish and respect the unique contribution that each religious tradition and our diverse experiences and backgrounds bring to our work and value the ways we learn from each other to serve all people.
What We Believe
We believe that our religious values of justice and the equality of persons summon us to affirm the dignity and worth of every human being and to affirm the right of each person to live without fear and threat of violence.
We believe that the teachings of our religious traditions have been a source of pain and confusion as well as a source of strength and healing for those facing sexual and domestic violence.
We believe that the teachings of our religious traditions obligate us to work towards an end to sexual and domestic violence in our individual communities and in society at large.
We believe that it is possible to transform individuals, families, communities and institutions through education and the power of our faith traditions.
We believe that the voices of survivors of sexual and domestic violence are a primary source of knowledge and direction for our work.
What We Do
We collaborate to develop and promote resources from our faith traditions which promote safety, justice and healing and to address those which may present roadblocks to ending sexual and domestic violence.
We do our work with a commitment to cultural sensitivity and competency which are essential components of effective work for social change.
We are guided and sustained by the spiritual resources of our traditions.
