Help Sandy Hook Hero Get His Long Term Disability

Suffering from PTSD following the Sandy Hook elementary school shooting Officer Thomas Bean is facing possible firing due to his diagnosis with PTSD. Officer Bean is now facing a tougher battle as the state of CT is one of only three states that does not provide long-term benefits to those who suffer from non physical disabilities. Please help us get Officer Bean the benefits he deserves. WE MUST CHANGE THE LAW AND SUPPORT OUR HEROES!

Help Sandy Hook Hero Get His Long Term Disability

For many years I provided psychological services to those who suffered from PTSD and many years later there has been no change in getting long term disability for those who deal with this. PTSD is not something that can be helped in a short amount of time and those who suffer from this horrible disorder have faced very traumatic events. Why should anyone put a time limit on their healing? It's not fair! Survivors of horrific experiences should not be given a brief time to heal after an event that has forever changed their lives. Everything is different in their lives and we should be a supportive Nation behind those who are traumatized. Where's our compassion? Allow people to heal properly and stop looking for the quick fix! Let's take this opportunity to stand by this first responder and show the rest of the country that we believe in his right to continued long term disability!
