Our mission is to reduce infant and child mortality by empowering the people who tend to the health of children – mothers, community health workers, and medical practitioners.

WHO ARE WE?

Goal4.org works with the community of Sega, a cluster of 18 villages with a population of roughly 10,000, in rural western Kenya where child mortality is the highest in the country.

Our programs address the five leading causes of under-five death and reach those children that are hardest to reach. Each program is focused on either prevention or diagnosis and treatment.

WHY ARE WE DOING IT?

Because
...almost 1 in 7 children dies before their fifth birthday from easily preventable causes
...over 300,000 women die in childbirth and motherless babies are 10 times more likely to die ...bright, dedicated people in the community are working to stop these things from happening but lack the basic tools and support

HOW ARE WE DOING IT?

Our programs address the five leading causes of under-five death and reach those children that are hardest to reach. Each program is focused on either prevention or diagnosis and treatment. We establish local, social enterprises that will keep the programs running without having to rely on outside funding. Our program:- Community Health Worker Program- Public Sanitation Program- Health Facilities Program- Sustainability via Social Enterprises
