SUN : a systematic approach to sustainable urban food production. In practical terms, SUN is the intensive local conversion of green 'waste' into food thru a network of gardens within walking distance of every house, thereby reducing food and waste miles, and the associated carbon impacts of their transport. Our logo is a great example - the letters SUN were about 3.5 m in size and 'spelt' with marigolds. The background is silver beet which was donated to Foodbank WA. The garden they were in is one of our production trial gardens - everything was made from 'waste'. Our logo was free, sustainable, biodegradable, fun and beneficial to the community. Thats how easy sustainable societies can be!!!
