Sometimes when our families are watching ESPN, a word jumps out of the TV and slaps us across the face.

Look, here’s the long and the short of it: ESPN's continued use of the crude racial slur 'Redskins' in sports coverage is harmful, offensive, and unfit for television.  This sports media network reaches too many American homes to continue using this harmful and derogatory epithet.

Tell ESPN: It’s time to drop the slur.

Several major media outlets have already dropped the term ‘R-dsk-ns,’ especially since studies show these mascots are linked to low self-esteem in Native youth. Our families deserve to not hear racist slurs when we are just trying to watch TV.

Please, join me and tell ESPN to drop the slur.

Thank you for standing with us.
