To create a patient-driven effective advertisement campaign on ME / CFS, particularly on patient quality of life.
Create an effective, cutting-edge advertisement campaign specifically to address the lack of quality of life of individuals with CFS, also known as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME). Through this multi-organization campaign, we will address quality of life issues such as obstacles to medical care for individuals with this illness. Ads will be strategically placed in national newspapers, in community newspapers, blogs, and websites to call for changes to improve the quality of life for these patients. Other goals will be to create public service announcements that reflect the patients' voice in a way that wins the public's hearts and to raise the public consciousness to the plight of individuals with this NeuroEndocrineImmune disorder. The final goal is to issue a collective, unified and powerful statement that an entire community will no longer be silent and invisible.
1. According to research, at least 1 million Americans have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, also known as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME).
2. This NeuroEndocrineImmune illness now impacts the US economy at between $18-23 billion dollars annually in the U.S.
3. Twenty-five years after outbreaks were reported, many physicians in the U.S. & abroad don't know how treat patients with CFS, also known as ME..
4. Communicate with the CDC concerning the CFS website page, which is contradictory to enhancing quality medical care access & disability benefits.
