GLOBAL PETITION WHICH HAS ALREADY BEEN DELIVERED TO EMBASSIES  And UK government resulting in the issue being debated. SUCCESS.

We the Global Movement of NoToDogMeat- part of the charity World Protection of Dogs and Cats in the Meat Trade do hereby formally oppose the illegal trade, torture and daily slaughter of millions dogs and cats including stolen pets primarily in South Korea, China, Vietnam, Laos, Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia yet not excluding all countries where this atrocity occurs.

We petition and call to account the Governments of the United Kingdom Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Holland, Switzerland. Sweden, Denmark, the United States of America, Canada, Australia,  The Asian Continents, South Africa, Brazil, Israel , the Vatican State as well as the United Nations.

We formally request that our respective governments  act with immediate effect to end this unacceptable daily torture of sentient beings that is punishable by criminal offence everywhere else in the world.

We petition world authorities to enforce a global ban on the unregulated trade of dogs and cats for the purpose of consumption and request sanctions for non-compliance.   There is no place for BOILING DOGS AND CATSALIVE and DELIBERATELY MAKING THEM SUFFER to satisfy culinary preference of South East Asia in this millennium.

We petition our respective governments – the UN and the OIE World Health to formally respond as to why Dog and Cat meat has consistently and without exception fallen outside all international animal welfare laws and why there exists no reliable data and statistics on dog and cat farming, transport, slaughter and processing.

We petition our respective governments to respond as to why multilateral trade agreements with the countries of South East Asia have been put in place to include animal welfare provisions yet on each and every occasion dogs and cats are excluded.

We  respectfully remind our  Governments of the five freedoms set down by International animal welfare organizations and the World Organizations for Animal Health   These being: 1. Freedom from hunger or thirst by ready access to fresh water and a diet to maintain full health and vigour 2. Freedom from discomfort by providing an appropriate environment including shelter and a comfortable resting area 3. Freedom from pain, injury or disease by prevention or rapid diagnosis and treatment 4. Freedom to express normal behaviour by providing sufficient space, proper facilities and company of the animal's own kind 5. Freedom from fear and distress by ensuring conditions and treatment which avoid mental suffering   .

We petition our respective  governments to take tangible steps to end the Illegal and Unregulated Dog and Cat Meat Trade in South East Asia and to start in 2013 .We request this action exceeds the usual diplomatic routes that have not resulted in change We respectfully remind our governments  it is unconscionable to remain silently partisan to this wanton torture. This is clearly not farming and the outdated adage of cultural difference can no longer hold validity.

THIS petition and opposition to the trade is not based just on moral or ethical reasons, it is based on scientific data and clear breach of international regulations.

We seek a formal response to our petition-, which is to be submitted in both paper and electronic format in writing to the address provided in the respective countries petitioned.

A paper version of this petition was created and  notarised on May 11th 2013- a copy of which may be downloaded and printed on
