I came across a disturbing story on my Yahoo News feed recently. Two parents from Crestview Florida were concerned about their 13-year-old daughter's increasingly disrespectful behavior, so they decided to humiliate the teen in public. They made her spend 90 minutes standing at a busy intersection with a hand-written sign that said: "I’m a self-entitled teenager w/no respect for authority. I’m also super smart, yet I have 3 'D’s' because I DON’T CARE."

When we have problems with teen behavior it’s usually up to the parent to take up their own code of law, even if its excessive bullying. I consider these parents actions to be an over-the-top form of punishment that will probably lead to domestic violence and teen runaways.

It’s time that the state authorities stepped in to prevent this type of child abuse from happening again!
