Get REAL started in February of 2011 with the aim of running workshops in junior high and high schools led by university students, and changing the face of what it means to be a young person who stands up against homophobia. We are open to any and all who wish to stand up and speak out against discrimination. We have grown from four founders to a team numbering over 40 students and spanning multiple universities. Get REAL currently runs awareness and advocacy campaigns at university campuses, as well as workshops in middle schools and high schools. Get REAL is more than a club, and more than an organization; we are a movement of likeminded students who work tirelessly to change homophobic language and attitude.
