To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the march on Washington and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s legendary 1963 Dream speech, let's do something positive, peaceful, and productive in our communities.
For 63 minutes (starting at 3:00 pm on August 28, 2013) people from across this country are pledging to commit themselves to defend Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream.
Our support for freedom for Marissa Alexander and #TrayvonsLaw are part of our larger struggle civil rights and equality.

On August 28, 2013 citizens from across this country will converge upon our nation's capital to commemorate and celebrate the historic March On Washington which occurred 50 years ago on August 28, 1963. Follow #MarchOnWashington for updates!
We picked August 28th because that was the day that the March on Washington took place. We choose 63 minutes because that was the year of the great March on Washington. We decided on a start time of 3:00 pm because that was the time that Martin Luther King Jr. began delivering the speech that changed the world.
