DCCADV’s mission is to build a community where domestic violence is replaced with human dignity.
In 1986, activists from local community-based organizations established the District of Columbia Coalition Against Domestic Violence (DCCADV, the Coalition) to unify anti-domestic violence efforts into a coordinated partnership to eliminate domestic abuse in Washington, DC.
The Coalition’s mission is to build a community where domestic violence is replaced with human dignity.
As a membership organization, DCCADV unifies systems through advocacy, public awareness, technical assistance, training and research, to shape a coordinated community response that promotes the safety, security, and justice needs of domestic violence victims and their families.
