Once we reach 1,000 members, every member will donate $100 for a total of $100,000 to the SENS Foundation for the development of medical therapies to defeat age related disease and disability.

How you can help

► Join this cause. Once we reach 1,000 members, each member will donate $100 to the non-profit SENS Foundation, for a total of $100,000.

► Help spread the word about this cause; invite your friends and ask websites, blogs, etc. to link to and publicize this cause.

Why your help is urgently needed

Of the 150,000 people that die each day worldwide, age related diseases kill 100,000. In the developed world, age related diseases cause 90% of all deaths.

However, there is hope. Medical science is hard at work on therapies intended to combat age related disease and disability, and is making steady progress.

If we can accelerate the arrival of these therapies by even a single year, we could save 36 million lives and alleviate untold suffering.

About the SENS Foundation

The SENS Foundation (www.sens.org) is a non-profit organization founded in March 2009 which works to develop the regenerative medical therapies it calls the "Strategies for Engineered Negligible Senescence" (SENS), which have been identified by its Chief Science Officer, Aubrey de Grey.

We want to help the SENS Foundation achieve its mission, but we aren't directly affiliated with it. Since we believe SENS to be the only feasible set of strategies that could defeat age related disease and disability within our lifetime, funding SENS research is the best possible use of the donations our cause page will raise. About aging and SENS

Age related decline is caused by the long-term accumulation of damage in the body at the molecular and cellular level. This damage eventually leads to age-related disabilities and diseases such as cancer, diabetes, heart disease, Alzheimer's disease, and Parkinson's disease. Instead of treating individual diseases, SENS aims to remove this disease-causing damage from the body and thus restore the body to its normal, healthy, and disease-free state. 2. Aging involves the accumulation of cellular and molecular damage in the body, which eventually leads to age-related disease and physical frailty.

3. SENS Foundation (www.sens.org) therapies called SENS aim to remove this disease-causing damage.

4. We believe that SENS is the only feasible medical plan that could end age related disease and disability within our lifetime.

5. If we can accelerate the arrival of these therapies by even a single year, we could save 36 million lives.
