The International Center for Journalistst (ICFJ) promotes quality journalism worldwide in the belief that independent, vigorous media are crucial in improving the human condition.

The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) joins journalists, individuals and groups worldwide striving to promote quality journalism. The more we do to increase transparency, vigorous media and access to information, the faster we can improve the condition of lives everywhere.

Now celebrating its 25th anniversary, ICFJ has worked directly with more than 55,000 journalists worldwide. Aiming to raise the standards of journalism, ICFJ offers hands-on training, workshops, seminars, fellowships and international exchanges to reporters, editors and media managers around the globe.

ICFJ’s programs have a tremendous impact on journalists across the globe. A few examples of our recent projects include:

- Reaching out to isolated journalists in Iran through online training modules in Persian, providing them with access to training they would not receive otherwise.

- Teaching the next generation of Chinese business journalists to work at the highest ethical and professional levels in ICFJ’s new Global Business Journalism Masters Program at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China.

- Working with journalists in Rwanda, Congo and Burundi to develop responsible radio and online news programming in six languages, building a sense of community in countries where “hate radio” once incited genocide.

Through these and our many other programs, ICFJ empowers journalists to do their jobs more effectively. We help build professionalism and lay the foundation for independent media. And we encourage positive systemic change that resonates long after the training has ended.
