No Dredging @ James Price Point/Protect Whale Nursery & Migration Routes

We are all connected. Let's not have more stranded fossil fuel assets. The latest peer-reviewed climate science is screaming out to us that we must stop burning fossil fuels, so why does the WA gov't choose to completely ignore it? They need to remember that the stone age age didn't end because we ran out of stones. Renewables are doable and won't cost us the earth - literally

No Dredging @ James Price Point/Protect Whale Nursery & Migration Routes

Dear fb friend, I was privileged to be a crew member on the Steve Irwin during Operation Kimberley Miinimbi, during this campaign I witnessed hundreds of Hump back whales happily enjoying the peace and security of the largest Hump back nursery in the world. These whales have been coming to this place to breed and nurse their young since the dinosaurs roamed our planet and the establishment of a gas hub at James Price Point would be devastating. The establishment of the port and pier stretching out into the nursery would have a catastrophic effect on these magnificent creatures. All of it's support vessels and hundreds of ships it will service per year would cause severe noise pollution within the nursery and the chance of vessels striking these whales would be simply unavoidable due to the prolific population being in the immediate vicinity. This truly remarkable pristine coastline must not be destroyed, it's value is not in it's resources, it's value is in it's beauty, it's people, the many indigenous plants, abundant wildlife and the millions of people around the world that travel to this amazing place to experience it's culture and pristine wilderness. Please help us make the West Australian Government aware of the worlds disgust at the prospect of this project going ahead, be a voice for the voiceless and sign the petition, I know the whales would thankyou if they could. Thanks, James Brown.

I have had the privilege of knowing this place from when I was young, I know the history, heritage & cultural significance of this magic country. It is truly magnificent, James Prices Point has been studied for many years & is still currently being studied by archaeologists, anthropologists, scientists & students world wide. The heritage, culture & songlines are still very much alive & practiced, there is truly no place on earth that has the mythological culture links that is still practised to the many dinosaur footprints that run for 200km in either direction. Not to mention the whale hub nursery & the fact that many endangered species such as our beloved bilby reside there. James Prices Point is a living & breathing museum, the many reefs provide sanctuary & food for many sea life including dugongs & the turtles that come & lay their eggs on the beach, again all of this has cultural links to the Indigenous people of that country. There is no amount of money that could ever replace such a significant site. We have to leave some places as they are for our future generations. The tourism value of James Prices Point is massive, especially in a world hell bent on destroying and mining. There are alternatives, we are on the brink of an energy revolution and all the gas & coal mining will be so out-dated & to expensive to pursue in the next 10 to 15 years, shareholders are already looking to future energy investments such as solar & wind..Please I beg you to help us preserve & keep this place as pristine as possible...
