A joint resolution providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the final rule submitted by the Secretary of the Interior relating to stream protection.
Because it totally sounds like a great idea to let coal companies dump whatever they want into rivers and streams? Do you like bathing? Do you like eating fruits and vegetables? Do you like drinking water or putting ice in your drink? Then NO! This is crazy!
Disastrous chemical spills, badly polluted rivers (such as the Chicago River once was), accidental major oil leaks, poisoned water pipes for homes... We have learned this lesson time and again: water is vital and therefore must be kept free of contaminants by irresponsible human action. No exceptions. Protect our waters!
Why would anyone EVER think that it is a good idea to put poisonous heavy metals and debris from mining into a stream. It is detrimental to the whole ecosystem and has far-reaching negative effects.
NO! We need clean water and we need people to be held responsible for pollution and for that pollution to be regulated so hopefully we end up not polluting streams and our watersheds/waterways.
