Yes. I think that helping families keep their children well fed, well clothed and well cared for is a valued investment in our county’s future. This is certainly more important than protecting the wealthiest with the outlandish tax cuts enacted that trump/McConnell pushed through. I might want to cap the benefit at something like 8 or some other number to disincentive procreation for money, but I need to think about that more. It would certainly help with the alarming decreased birth rate in our country.

Uhhh yeah, actually we SHOULD be paying women to have kids. Kids are expensive and a LOT of work. It’s one of many reasons for the de facto birth strike at the heart of the steadily declining American birthrate. Women who, unable to afford adequate health insurance and exorbitant medical bills and denied access to paid parental leave, child care and job protection, find it financially punitive to have children. The tax break is nice, but a Universal single payer healthcare system, paid parental leave, quality affordable childcare, and job protection would do a lot more to support women’s ability to care for kids. Although I do support limiting it to two or three kids. But there’s no getting around the fact that no kids means no future tax payers unless you guys are going to open the doors to a lot more immigration. Also, some of you clearly don’t get the whole idea of “pro-choice”. If you want to have kids, that your choice and we support that. If you don’t want to have kids, that’s your choice and we support that. The central tenant is that it your choice and we support your right to make it for yourself. There is zero conflict. Both support women choice. If you were actually pro-life instead of just forced-birth, you would support making motherhood less financially punitive.

I can pretty much understand why a Republican congress and a lunatic president might not want this. The huge tax breaks to corporations and millionaires and billionaires has just been to much of a drain on our federal budget to help families on the bottom of the financial pyramid.
Hopefully in a little over a year we the regular everyday people can change that.

I’m all for giving people a tax break for child expenses, but this is entirely different. We should not be paying people to have kids. If you can’t afford them, be responsible and don’t have them.

Where is all the ”beef” coming from? The ”beef” fairy is broke, has been broke for decades. Borrowing money from our unborn children has never looked like a viable option. I believe Colorado better stick to fighting the bare-breasted women epidemic in their state, if CO wishes decorum.

Until we can get our Congress back on track and functioning to meet the needs of the American people, we need to begin taking some measures that can actually address the problems we are facing right now. This sounds like something that would provide some support to the portion of the American people who have most suffered the negative effects of financial inequality over the past decade. It seems also to be a bill that might actually find bipartisan appeal. I say go for it!
I would request to support this bill in order for parents to be capable to satisfy children’s needs especially for the working middle class and keep them off the streets by NOT getting exposed to things which they should not be based on their age.

As parents of a 2 year old we need all the help we can get. I strongly encourage you, however, to make budget cuts to make up for the revenue you will lose with this bill.

Raising kids is expensive and the laws imposed where women have no choice anymore it’s time the government stops spending money like water on Trump’s pet projects & at his properties and help AMERICANS RAISE THE KIDS THEY DEMAND WE HAVE.
Providing for the opportunity for children to grow up in a stable environment with adequate food, clothing, and shelter is always a positive. Investing in our children is worthwhile, and raising a family is a full time job when it’s done right. This is common sense legislation that would bring closer to being a civilized society.
Our Nation is in debt, and abusing deficit spending. Congress already spent the money we might have used on this. We must not borrow for this. The same children would be enslaved with the debt. Keep Ameerica Fee. End deficit spending.

Normal people plan for years before having children!
We wait until we have the income to support, feed, & shelter our children before we make the leap to make the glorious birth of our children happen!
Stop rewarding people for not planning & just popping out babies without thinking!
We decide to do what we want with our income not the government!
At what point are we just slaves for the government?
