Argument opposed
Punishing Palestinian civilians by cutting off humanitarian aid is not going to win over the Palestinian government.
Israel is a far larger sponsor of terror and human rights abuses than any other country. After Netenyahu's statements against the two state solution, it should be plainly obvious that we must stop supporting Israel in their continued unjust occupation of Palestine.
The best way to influence Palestinian policy is by means of tangible help / financial aid. The U.S. should incentivize moderate politics and sustained engagement with Israel.
It is certainly the knee jerk American political stance to support Israel without looking closely at the situation. I COMPLETELY DISAGREE! Israel has made a deliberate effort to remove all non-Jewish humans (Christian & Muslim) from the land their families had the misfortune to occupy--and pay taxes on--for the 1000 years before 1948. Israelis whine about how mean the Palestinians are--unarmed Palestinians throw rocks at tanks. Boo hoo. Gaza is a prison camp. People, who were displaced when Israel seized their land & homes, are trapped without any way to leave whether or not they support Hamas. There is almost no economy, no basic services and no hope for a better life no matter what anyone living in Gaza does. Anyone who says this wouldn't make them hate Israel under those circumstances is delusional. Cutting aid will only exacerbate a situation created by Israel's misguided religious zealotry.

There are many good Palestinians and right now they are being oppressed and marginalized by the PA and Hamas. If you are a liberal and are upset about the plight of the Palestinians. Stop scapegoating Israel, a secular democracy, and focus on the root of the issue: radical Islamism and corruption in the Palestinian leadership. They have been offered a country of their own 4 times and rejected it every time. If you are a liberal but support Hamas and want a two state solution with a democracy, you are a hypocrite.
