We need less government regulation of corporations. Government is to protect people's rights, not be overreaching .

There is a thin line to cross to go from volunteer to mandatory . Don't put the camel's nose under the tent. On a commercial meter one pays for both usage and demand. If someone flips all the lights on at once, the demand reading shoots up and that is on your bill for a year. The power company uses demand to calculate the service sizing to a facility. I was able to reduce the power bill at Beech Aircraft in by 30% simply be powering the buildings up in an orderly fashion each morning.
A "volunteer system" is what we have now. This gives the illusion of achievement when nothing's been achieved. Who came up with this idea?

As stated before private industry has already done this. The bureaucrats need to stay out!
Might not have enough "teeth" to encourage energy efficiency investment, but good establish some examples that would encourage businesses to consider moving in the right direction to add to their bottom line.
Let free enterprise find it's own path to conserve energy. I have a device on my house now to do just that. Stay away government.
I think most people are aware of their energy use. The companies I have worked for certainly are aware of their bottom line and spending money on unproductive energy use is always watched. I don't think this bill is value added.
Sure why not? If it doesn't cost anything, I'm fine with it.
