Should Cheating on a Background Check Disqualify a Person From Federal Employment?

Security clearances and privileged government information is only as secure as the background checks screening the people who can access them. This bill makes the process more secure.

Yeah, cheating on a background check should disqualify a person from federal employment, just as Hillary's use of a private server to conduct State Department business AND her deletion of thousands of emails AND repeatedly lying to COVER UP the fact that she used an INSECURE server and exposed CLASSIFIED emails to possible hacking by America's enemies should disqualify HER from the position of President of the United States of America! I believe Director Comey called it extreme negligence, but I call it a high crime worthy of a prison sentence! SO WHY DO LAWS APPLY TO EVERYONE EXCEPT THE CLINTONS, THE OBAMAS, AND MOST, IF NOT ALL, OF THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION??? Hillary Clinton and Barack Hussein Obama make Richard Nixon look like a SAINT!

"Have you ever smoked pot?" "No" "what about that one time in college, you lied, you can't work in a federal job anymore, but if you said yes, you also couldn't work". The problem is that background checks are still made by prudes and don't hold up in today's climate. It means if you've done something in your 20s you can't get a job in your 50s... that's insane, feel free to lie.

It's already illegal to lie on a background check. This bill should authorize more funding for more extensive background investigations but since that involves spending money on something that makes sense, it's not going to happen.

Proven falsification of information or misconduct involving same should be an employment disqualification.
Security clearances are serious, and those who seek or have them should be held to the highest standard of honesty.

That is a no brainier. You lie on any part of an important application for the government or any agency. You're out. Period!
Working in government presents enough moral hazards as it is. No need to invite more by going soft on moral turpitude. What else will they falsify? What else will they corrupt?

Why is this even a question? Cheating on a background check is advertising that you are deceitful and can't be trusted.
If your going to be a federal employee then you need to be honest in your background checks we have enough cheating going on in Congress we don't need federal employees outside of them to be honest!!

Seriously, congress? This bill is another no-brained time-waster. Anyone who lies on their employment application or background check obviously should not be hired. America needs judges, a budget, immigration and criminal justice reform, Zika funding....
