The Stone Age didn't end when we ran out of stone, so why hold off ending the oil age until we run out of oil? Climate change is a threat not only to the environment and to the millions of species on this planet, but to the economy, health and security of this nation, and it's citizens and peoples across the globe. The quickest and easiest way for the United States to address this issue is to instantly stop production of fossil fuels on federal lands and waters by keeping them in the ground. This won't only help preserve the planet for future generations, but will protect local communities and ecosystems from devastating effects of fracking and oil spills. We have the technology to be fracked gas and oil free. Let's do it.

The bill would deprive the government of billions of dollars in federal revenue from the leases. It’s pointless for the United States to restrict drilling if other countries aren’t doing the same.

WE NEED ENERGY INDEPENDENCE!
Being dependent upon oil from the Middle East is fine, if you don't mind those countries spending U.S. dollars to support Islamic civilization jihad and terrorism.
This bill is obviously part of the Left's war on fossil fuels. It is part of selling out our national sovereignty and security to the corrupt United Nations. It is part of the globalists' agenda for a New World Order, in which the elites control EVERYTHING!
And by the way, going "green" ISN'T going to save the planet! I believe even Stephen Hawking agrees with God that the Earth has an expiration date! That doesn't mean we shouldn't be good stewards of our resources, BUT the Earth and everything on it (and in it) was made FOR mankind, not the other way around!

Our country should be moving toward clean renewable energy. Our environment and climate research shows that humans through use of fossil fuels are damaging the eco systems. Continuing to do the same thing over and over while expecting different results is insanity. Change now.

We need to move away from fossil fuels and make cleaner energies more efficient, so we can live in a nice equilibrium with the millions of other species that inhabit the earth, as well as live in balance with the earth!
We should ban drilling for the sake of our waters, oceans, and lands. Drilling is helping to destroy our lovely planet. There are much better means or solutions to create renewable energy. Climate change is real. When are we going to realize that? When it is too late! We can't let that happen.
Climate Change is the largest global threat we face. Everything else pales in comparison. We must do everything in our power to move to a clean energy economy. That means fossil fuels stay on the ground.
Keep it where it belongs. We not only need to stop fossil fuel production, it's economic if we go green because we save sooooo much in cost both in the short and long run. We don't have to pay for energy, it comes free of charge(minus some costs for maintenance, which applies to fossils fuels too) and we save from having to pay for natural disasters that will affect the environment and people and communities living in them.
We need to push ourselves and all the other countries to "Keep It In The Ground"!
We cannot meet our increasingly ambitious climate goals of we do not keep fossil fuels in the ground!
With all the progress we have made - over the last few years especially - we are still a long way to go to get ourselves not only on par with many other nations' plans to help protect our planet, but with enough clean energy to actually make a difference. Our planet should be ISSUE #1. It affects everyone in every country, no matter how poor or rich you are. There is no replacement. There will be no turning back. Science is hard cold fact. Mr Trump and anyone else denying it are not denying it because they actually believe it doesn't exist, but because their monetary interests are expanded by them denying it. We cannot let corporations' greed further jeopardize the health and life on and of this planet.
We MUST transition away from fossil fuels and toward sustainable and renewable energy sources! We have more than enough oil in reserves to sustain our country through the transition process if we stop exporting what we have produced thus far.
If we protect the US lands and other countries don't, then later the US will be clean and healthy and all the other countries will be suffering. The US will be setting a good example and then other countries may follow our lead.

Strong signals need to be sent to the market to adapt the energy system to the preponderance of science pointing to the dangerous and destabilizing effects of carbon on our climate. The U.S. should restrict its use of fossil fuels while it can still make a difference, that process starts by ending the expansion of domestic drilling.
