senate Bill S. 2193

Do People Who Repeatedly Enter the Country Illegally Need Longer Prison Sentences?

Argument in favor

Longer prison sentences will help deter people who’ve been deported or barred from entering the U.S. from trying to illegally re-enter the country, and keep criminals off the streets.

KATE'S LAW MUST BE PASSED TO PROTECT AMERICAN CITIZENS! THAT CONGRESS HAS FAILED TO PASS IT BEFORE NOW IS A GREAT AND ONEROUS SHAME! IT SHOULD BE SUPPORTED BY EVERY MAN AND WOMAN IN AMERICA! This bill amends the Immigration and Nationality Act to increase from two years to five years the maximum prison term for an alien who reenters after being denied admission, excluded, deported, or removed. It establishes: a 10-year maximum prison term for an alien who reenters after being denied admission, excluded, deported, or removed on 3 or more prior occasions; and a 5-year mandatory minimum prison term for an alien who reenters after being removed following a conviction for an aggravated felony or following 2 or more prior convictions for illegal reentry.

Kate's Law is a simple law. No illegals in the US multiple time with criminal records shall be pampered by the DOJ. Multiple entry means multiple years in prisons. KEEP OBAMA'S criminals in their home country! Yes, I'm pissed with sanctuary cities and liberal dimocrats (yes I changed e to an i)! Dim = can't see

Yes but not in US prisons. We need a system that works with Mexico and sends them to Mexican prisons.

Argument opposed

Increasing prison terms for people who illegally re-enter the country will only keep U.S. prisons full and cost taxpayers more money to keep repeat offenders incarcerated.

Just send them back, we don't need to have them in this country. If they commit another crime while here, they should be given longer sentences than citizens.

Wow, no, longer prison terms are not the answer. We need a better system that helps people immigrate in a way that's not going to destroy our economy.

Prison overcrowding is already an issue thanks to the war on drugs. Let's not make it an even bigger problem.

Why would we waste money imprisoning non-US citizens? I thought our priority was to incarcerate EVERY black & brown American. Do we actually have enough money to put all the black & brown people in the Western Hemisphere in prison but not enough money to continue Social Security for American citizens who paid into it for a lifetime? Oh. I forgot. Jesus hates old people, too, even if some of them turn out to be white. It's so hard to keep in mind all the people Jesus hates.

No. They should be returned to their home countries and our borders should be strengthened to prevent their return. I know that is a pipe dream but locking them up for longer terms at taxpayer expense doesn't seem fair to legal immigrants or American citizens.

The law of the land should be universal for all not conditional on immigrant status. It's a slippery slope when a society begins enacting variable rules based on any kind of individual status.

Immigration is not only what our nation was founded on, but a known boost to our economy. It also cost tax payers far more to put these individuals in prison.

No we need to send them back we can't be using our taxpayer money on people who don't contribute to America in the first place. Incarceration rates are ridiculous now a days and having illegal immigrants here will help contribute to that. What we need to do is send them back and build a wall.

So here's the deal, there are people that were born here and people that weren't. Then, there are also people who were born in geographical areas that are separated from our geographical area by imaginary lines. The people in the separated areas are deemed different than us, and therefore can't come chill with us because that would "disrupt" or "destabilize" our area. The weird thing is that there is a ton of the separated people on our country anyways that are actually relied on by us to do jobs, jobs we have created in our area. So if these people are basically the same as us, and do jobs that we need done, why the fuck can't they come chill with us. I realize there are other factors but there are always other factors. And if y'all say there are criminals that come over that should be deported, then deport all the criminals.

The habitual unforgiving failures on behalf of the Obama Administration on stabilizing the manner of illegal immigration have marked a mass increased for amnesty to be granted to individuals that are capable of flourishing harm, violence, sexual harassment, homicides, federal violations, a breach of our values, and committing a surplus of severe criminal activity overall! A truly wise proposal introduced by Texan Senator Ted Cruz is a iconic individual in the senate that has evidently comprehend of how a large cluster of illegal aliens is devastating the circumstances of the American People and further breaches on our national security as well. As statistic was mentioned throughout the visual perspective on the proposal of Senator Ted Cruz of while he was sparing with his colleague Hon. Sarah Saldaña about the significance of the Obama administration or (specifically the ICE organization granting amnesty to over 104,000 illegal immigrants! Unsurprisingly, under the authority of our border enforcement customs or generally speaking the Obama administration (ICE) has disgracefully let over 68,000 criminals out of those 104,000 commit severe crimes jeopardizing the rule of law commit over thousands of cases of rape, sexual harassment, homicides and much more. For instance, the originating factor of this proposal for future implement was under Ted Cruz inspiration to name after the devastating murder of an Kate Steinle! An innocent woman achieving accomplishments in the universities she was currently attending was visiting a local tourist attraction in San Francisco California while she was shot by and killed by a man under the name of Francisco Sanchez that had been previously deported FIVE TIMES AND HAD A PROVEN STATUS OF SEVEN FELONY CONVICTIONS AS WELL! A .40 caliber was utilized in this homicide. A large majority Washington is evidently not comprehending the significance of how exploited borders, un-comprehensive lawful regulations regarding the severe crimes committed by the illegal immigrants has signified beyond embarrassment but a outrageous catastrophe on our soil as well! EVERY SINGLE DAY. Due to the incompetence under the current legislation that refuses to be enforced as well under the Obama administration. A prime example was under the manner of Hon. Sarah Saldaña as well. Her proposal was to abolish the manipulation occurring by the current administration and deport felons that devalue the rule of law and commit federal crimes. HER PASSED BILL WAS ABSURDLY REJECTED UNDER THE BEHALF OF THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION AND NOT ENFORCED. The urgency of the problem seems to be ignored under a majority of our current leaders both in the house and the senate (even the White House). Due to the contingency of what statistics have accurately stated that has been evidently more represented to the American people is due to this incompetence to refuse to implement comprehensive implementations to prevent the jeopardization of our national security. To see for yourself on this video about the significance of Mr. Cruz brilliant proposal please take time to glance at this Source: https://www.cruz.senate.gov/?p=press_release&id=2395. WITNESS THE INCOMPETENCE DIRECTLY VISIBLE BEYOND YOUR EYES! As I see the position our nation is currently facing I see a result of a proposal that we cannot afford to reject! The Straight forward principles of this bill incorporate: 1.The maximum prison term for a first offense would be raised from two to five years. 2.Those with three or more offenses would face a 10-year maximum sentence following all illegal re-entries after the person’s third conviction. 3. A 10-year maximum would also apply if an offender is removed from the country for committing an aggravated felony. (This to me appears as a reasonable request as it should for you as well. ) This is not a manner of necessarily the effects its implementation would have on the tax payers expense. As currently the tax payers aspect in these disastrous manners have ALREADY SKY ROCKETED. implementing this proposal would raise awareness to the immigration community to respect our comprehensive regulations and Stand by the due diligence of responsibility to uphold the rule of law! The fact of manner is we currently have strategic proposals to alleviate the imitations of increasing illegal immigration although under the authority of the misguided executive branch of our federal government these proposed implementations are immediately, foolishly and unpatriotically are vetoed as a sense to prevent the widespread of illegal immigration. Citizens only have so much influence in their power to make awareness to Washington about confronting the problem and implement results so all souls that enter our nation will uphold the rule of law which has been intended but never enforced. As I quickly glance just by reading this intension I see desperation for this proposal to "PASS" due to the analysis I have conveyed and what state and local governments has revealed as well (authentic facts)! Listen having a diverse population and diverse cultures in the United States is an absolute honor. It's the nature of what founded America! The day the may flower set sale during the 18th century, to the time period of the industrial revolution where Europeans and a vast variety of other ethnic groups contained adept technological, economic and occupational opportunities would be the defining result of a future prosperous prosperity of light in the United States. In other words, Our nation was constructed by immigrants (the founding fathers themselves). Although these patriotic immigrants were a diverse settlers that upholded the values of our regulations, rule of law and greatly exemplified integrity dedicated to committing to great due diligence to be responsible citizens in upholding our laws that became some of the most iconic souls our earth has EVER WITNESSED. For the sake of future prosperity for generations to arrive in today's society our diverse illegal immigrants need to uphold the rule of law and respect our values and if not so than comprehensive consequences need to be implemented as well. The point is, the illegal immigrants of millions we contain to this day need to cast their grant as being responsible with integrity to respect our values and become a true American. In November innovative, vehement leadership and legislation has to arrive to promote future prosperity for diverse groups that are looking forward to claim their individual liberties as a United States citizen. Myself from my mothers side is European. My nationalities from my mothers side incorporate: Italian German Irish Dutch My fathers come from a Hispanic and European matter as well My fathers side of nationalities incorporate: Spanish Guatemala My ancestors migrated to this nation with integrity and sought to cast their citizenship with dignity to seek occupational opportunities. I am not offended that my partial nationality of Guatemalens is a portion throughout our illegal immigration community. I am aware and not offended that some Central Americans are severe crimes committers on our soil as well (coming from a American prospective)! I am very proud to share my nationalities with you as being proud of them. But most of ALL I AM WELL OVER PROUD AND BLESSED TO BE AN AMERICAN AND TELL YOU TODAY THAT AMERICAN CAN FIGHT THE DARKNESS AND REPLACE IT WITH LIGHT (prosperity) as long as we set our minds to it. Thank you for your time and I would like to mention honorable votes on this bill by countable members: Loraki Operman Jay I appreciate all others truly comprehending the significance of how urgent it is for this proposal to be implemented because it's for the sake of future advancement as well.
