Vehicular terrorism poses a serious threat, and Congress should work with the Dept. of Homeland Security to reinforce and expand upon actions being taken to mitigate the threat. This bill ensures that happens.

I think that ALL governmental departments should be communicating with each other. I also believe that treating guns like we treat cars would go a long way to curb gun violence. Gun owners licenses should be renewed and every gun transfer registered. Granted, you’ll still have the same problems with unDER registered guns and unlicensed gun possessors but it will be far fewer.

I am hoping that Homeland Security will propose licensing EVERYONE who owns OR operates a car/truck... I am hoping that the licenses are ONLY granted to those who CAN pass a SAFTEY & PROFICIENCY TEST! ... GOLLY why is it so easy when it comes to cars... BUT NOT GUNS?

Homeland Security needs to be accountable to someone! As well as ALL Federal agencies. NO EXCEPTIONS!!!

Let’s start with guns and work up to vehicles What is congress going to do about vehicles??? They haven’t done a Damned thing about domestic terrorism, domestic violence and general violence nothing done about guns and there have been 317 mass murders with guns since 11/2016 Yes people have a right to gun ownership No one has the right to abuse this No one needs an assault rifle if they are not military My tax dollars are being wasted If you want a gun, background check, mental health check Mandatory gun ownership insurance I must take a test to drive I Must have insurance for my vehicle I must obey the rules of the road I cannot drive if under the influence of drugs or alcohol

I don’t see why we should focus on vehicular terrorism. The DHS should be focusing on how to prevent all forms of terrorism and it should be both foreign and domestic. We have plenty of domestic terrorists that the government doesn’t give anywhere near enough attention to.

There are enough rules/laws concerning agencies reporting back to Congress. Enforce reporting & cooperation between and among departments. First off, however, Congress & DHS need to address the NRA/GOP supported acts of terrorism that occur every day in this country. As was said during Vietnam War protests : Killing for peace is like fucking for virginity! Think about it!

Our government should work together and remain on the same page on how it fights terror. It would lead the way for funding and action that needs to happen. This also allows them to work together when something like this happens again in the future.
Someone will leak our strategy and give the enemy our playbook.
Congress needs to worry about what it needs to do and not micromanage. Let DHS do it’s job. Telling congress everything it is doing will let the terrorists know what DHS is doing. We don’t need congress and the media tipping off the terrorists.
Just so u don’t behave in an abusive way, & it must include homegrown terrorism in the USA by right wing extremists & hate groups. Terrorists in the USA are often times citizens of the USA, which trump & republicans refuse to acknowledge unless they r Muslim or anther ethnicity. This practice is dangerous & racist, putting us all at extreme risk.
This is a waste of time. While the DHS could be focused on doing the work that they were hired to do, instead they’re spending time focusing on telling Congress what they’re doing. Nothing will come out of this other than an unnecessarily informed Congress.
It’s obvious what needs to be done. Motor vehicles are deadly. We should immediately ban all vehicle.
I don’t understand the emphasis on Islamic terrorism when domestic terrorism by far has killed more people randomly than any Islamic terrorist in the U.S. If the murders by gun welding terrorist are a price that we have to pay for our freedom then why not someone driving a vehicle? If we see murder on equal par with any other murder then we should be asking more questions about our very serious problems with gun laws, the NRA and the abuse of the 2cd Amendment. This question just goes to show how prejudice we are, death is death. Let’s deal with our gun problem. It’s totally being ignored.
Today only human conducted vehicular terrorism is the threat. How about when terrorism is administered via autonomous vehicles?

No. This would be a waste of time and resources. Congress ( at least this one) can’t seem to agree on the definition of terrorism or terrorist much less vehicular terrorism. This is one of many times Congress just needs to stay out of it(trump included) and let trained people do what they were trained to do.
Congress can simply ask (and should) Dept. of Homeland Security what it is doing to help cities defend against this sort of attack. The Department should make request for funding prevention as part of the normal appropriation or emergency process.
