Studies have shown cash incentives offer no real incentive (after people are paid enough to live comfortably.) I am concerned about hidden agendas here. Already the Senate is saying the non wealthy don’t need food, healthcare or shelter. Will someone get a bonus for making even more suffering and death for the American people, particularly if they don’t see real needs of Americans? Think of falling bridges, lead-filled water, burning water. Since Rand Paul subscribed to the philosophy that greed and selfishness are ethical stances, this is dubious.

This is a part of their job, why are we rewarding for it? Cut all government budgets by 40% and we’d save much more.

Just another way for Trump to try to make up the deficit he’ll cause. This isn’t about fiscal responsibility and rewarding hard workers. If anything, it’s going to create more greed and unnecessary bickering. The average employee can’t afford to live, but we’re going to reward federal employees for finding “extra money” that could have gone towards our crumbling infrastructure, fixing our schools...Nope, he thinks employees finding errors that consist of less than even .02% of our budget should get double than what they already do. You know, for doing their job.

NO. Have integrity or don’t. We don’t pay people for doing the right thing, we should expect it.

Shouldn’t the expectation be that all employees are looking for ways to improve upon current systems in place. Why should we pay our public employees even more to do it. They already have some of the best benefits around. Now we pay them even more to do their jobs. I wish I was a public employee!

How about doing the right thing for the sake of doing the right thing?! This should be what every employee should be doing for their employers anyway.

I’ve identified a waste of money. It’s this load of crap bill.

Can’t believe an employee would ever actually get a bonus for actual cost cutting measures. Biggest question on my mind is will the Trump Bunch use this to cut money spent in the people of the country such as CHIP, rather than actually trying to cut the expenses like Pruitt, Manchin and Carson.

A bonus is fine. A whole other salary is not. Stop trying to coax people into undermining our country for personal profit. We’ve had enough of that already. There’s no reason to jack up the amount that high. Bonuses that high encourage individual greed to win out over the greater good. Typical Republican. If you want to stop the “use it or lose it” issue with funding there are far better methods than this. Simply allow agencies to roll over unused funding into the subsequent fiscal year. If they run a surplus for several years (like 3-7), then you can evaluate the reasons and adjust some of the allocation. That the responsible method.

How about firing those who don’t

Thirty-eight years with them and never did an hourly employee ever get a bonus for saving any money for the government agency. It always wound up where some GS-12 Engineer came up with the idea first. It was also said no hourly employee could ever have the knowledge to make those decisions. Joke, more money for the already highly paid.

There’s no good reason to expand the cash bonus program for federal employees who identify unnecessary costs. Cash awards are already available.

So we want to incentive cost cutting? In an administration that lacks any moral fortitude this is a slippery slope to bonuses to those who cut what Donald and his buyers want cut. Perhaps a better alternative would be to repeal the tax cut that only benefits the wealthy, apply tax breaks to the lower and middle income earners, invest federal dollars in infrastructure, education and the ACA so that poor and working class families can have a chance at the American Dream. As cliche as our children are our future is, it is wholly true. If American children can’t get a great education, how do we expect them to become great? How can a family become a functional part of the American economy when working a full time job isn’t enough to pay rent? How can a parent raise a child properly when they are working two jobs at 60-80 hours a week? How can a middle class family in the United States exist when a single hospital admission can leave them in financial ruins? The United States became the super power it is on the backs of a strong working and middle class, where 40 hours a week was a full time position that could support a family. This is no longer the case. Washington has abandoned the average American and has become beholden to those with millions of dollars to give to Super PACS that tow their agenda. We live in an era where the current powers that be ignore data, facts, and the truth. They spout propaganda and memes as they demonize those who are poor, those who believe in helping their fellow man, and those who speak to facts, laws, and justice. For our democracy to survivor this must end. It is time that We The People wrestle our democracy back from those pay to play.

That is way too much money to pay a federal employee as a bonus for speaking up and doing the right thing. Finding unnecessary expenses is part of their job. Why wouldn't someone speak up if they identify this? The sad fact is that some people struggle just to make $20,000 a year. How about instead of a bonus you can just keep your job. I would consider paying a bonus to those who speak up against corruption, immoral, and/or illegal behavior as long as it results in terminating the employment of the guilty party. Create an atmosphere where people are more afraid to not do the right things.
