A bill to require enforcement against misbranded milk alternatives.

Summary

Defending Against Imitations and Replacements of Yogurt, Milk, and Cheese To Promote Regular Intake of Dairy Everyday Act or the DAIRY PRIDE Act This bill amends the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act to prohibit the sale of any food that uses the market name of a dairy product, is not the milk of a hooved animal, is not derived from such milk, and does not contain such milk as a primary ingredient.

    This in ridiculous attempt by the dairy industry to remain relevant. Milk is not copyrighted and it's not only dairy. Your efforts are wasted- it won't change anything.

    Consumers are not confused about what plant based milks are - the dairy industry is confused about what a free market and competition are. If you want fair and accurate labeling of milk, label cow's milk as "cow's milk" and leave the other labels as they are. Trying to force a dying industry on consumers is manipulative and a waste of time and money. It is time for Congress and the USDA to enter the 21st century. Plants are the future of food.
