The House should make a statement by formally calling gun violence a public health issue that needs to be addressed with expanded background checks, even if it’s only symbolic at this point.

Yes absolutely. 33000 people died because of gun violence in the United States every year. I think that makes it a National Health crisis

18 shootings in 2018. It is only February. This is very obviously a public health crisis unique to our country. Congress should be sounding the alarm, doing their job to do all they can to protect the people who elected them to serve as their representative. They should and they MUST.

This is a meaningless resolution that wouldn’t do anything of substance to advance the background checks it claims to support or mitigate the so-called public health issue of gun violence.

Far too many people die from criminals being lose on the street. Let's do something about that and actually solve a problem instead of just pretend that criminals buy guns legally and would even be affected by a background check.

Any law or bill that would restrict firearms, firearm accessories, ammunition, and where I can carry my firearm is a infringement on my second amendment
More people die from guns than wars these days or terrorism. Give it the attention it deserves. common sense gun laws is what we must agree on.

Yes!! If someone has a problem with passing a thorough background check, then they most definitely should not have access to weapons!! If not, then we all benefit by ensuring that less guns are in the hands of unstable, violent, unwell people.

nay I believe that sellers need to be included in an investigation that would affect their future, to sell or incarceration ( similar to drug dealers) .
