house Bill H. Res. 744

Expressing the sense of the House of Representatives that the Senate should amend its rules to require a sitting United States Senator actively seeking election to the Presidency of the United States to recuse himself or herself from the impeachment trial

Elected Senators have a constitutional obligation to represent their constituencies. Excluding a sitting Senator from voting for an issue as critical to our democracy as impeachment effectively silences the voting voices of an entire state. This is clearly an partisan resolution introduced to influence impeachment and should be dismissed.
