Really? Is this what y'all are spending your time on in DC? Go home and try getting a real job!
Continue to segregate us into special interest groups so that we are easier to control? Heck yea, or we could have a national language and have people assimilate into our US culture and society...
Give me a break! I can't believe how much time Congress wastes on trivial stuff like this!

Learning languages is a beautiful thing. It's like tree day, won't effect you anyways unless you participate. No money spent so what's the harm?
When we defect from one country to cleave to a new one as our home, then we merge into the new culture. We show loyalty to that new culture and language. Recognizing anything different is treason. Families can speak their mother language to educate their children in the home, but Congress has enough on its plate without this potential trouble maker bill. As far as Congress is concerned: True Americans speak English and are happy to do so.
This is SO bottom of the priority list, I'm disgusted it's up for a vote.
Hell no. If one speaks their mother language, let them live in their mother country. In the U.S., English is our language! We need a English Language Day!
People who come here should assimilate to the US not the other way around. If their country was so great why did they leave?

Culture is an important aspect of society, it is in our best interest as well as in the best interest of our citizens to preserve and promote the melting pot. We are a diverse nation and should embrace it.
