Reforming Patent Law to Reduce Frivolous Lawsuits
Argument in favor
Frivolous patent lawsuits discourage innovation, and are often settled because the cost of taking the case to trial are so high. Discouraging patent trolls from gaming the system protects legitimate intellectual property rights.

We need to stop patent trolls that own broad reaching patents from suing actual inventors with actual uses for a patent.
Argument opposed
This bill is so broad that it may actually hurt small businesses that are suing because their patent rights have been infringed. If it discourages those small companies from asserting their rights, it will have done more harm than good.

Undercutting our patent system in order to short-change lawyers seems unreasonable when one considers the effect such a bill could have on small start-ups, who would find it harder to protect their intellectual property.

When the US congress starts protecting the American inventors from the Chinese then we can focus on frivolus

Lawyers do get rich on other's backs because of just and frivolous lawsuits. Where does anyone get paid 30% plus expenditures. They take no risk yet for a few hours work they can receive hundreds of thousands or million of dollars from one case that was trumped up. Frivolous lawsuits must stop and lawyers should have to reimburse the courts if they bring a frivolous suit.
About time. Just one frivolous lawsuit can make a lawyer a multi-millionaire.
Any individual or organization losing a lawsuit should have to pay all costs of the suit, resulting in a much better way to reduce frivolous lawsuits. It works well in other countries.
No no no! A bunch of bureaucrats will surely screw this up due to the laws of unintended consequences. If there is a specific patent law that is being misused, then by all means fix it, but we have had enough of broad sweeping legislation on any topic to last two lifetimes...
Unless the law also reduces frivolous patents, there will be no value in it
Reform patent law so big corporations can't steal from private inventors
Putting a little bite into the law would be that there would be recourse for a lawsuit for the frivolous lawsuits.
How about a bill to reform healthcare laws so Congress and their staff must participate in the ACA in lieu of the separate "Cadillac" plan they have just for themselves. That would be reform!
