house Bill H.R. 7608

$260 Billion ‘Minibus’: FY2021 Funding for the EPA, National Parks, Veterans Affairs & More

Argument in favor

This four bill “minibus” spending package reflects the priorities of the House Democratic majority for agencies such as the EPA, Veterans Affairs, and the State Dept. It’s appropriate to allow foreign aid dollars to go to groups promoting or providing abortions.

I support funding all these departments, especially at a time when the administration is trying to reduce and decimate them. However, we really need a bill to help those in need during this crisis, so let's go back to a funding bill for healthcare, unemployment, housing, and racial equity.

This money is important to providing for the EPA and veterans affairs after this administration has evicerated the EPA over the past 3 years.

Argument opposed

Packaging four appropriations bills into one “minibus” that has a $260 billion price tag is a nightmare for transparency. This minibus also includes partisan provisions, such as giving foreign aid to groups that promote or provide abortions.

Another fumbled bundled. Most of the variety of items are worthy. But, how much more exactly does the military need??? No more for the military. This bill gives them another $250.9 Billion!!! NO!

Lack of priorities in Congress! Where is Covid-19 funding to control spread and rebuild economy after months of disruptions?

The provision in this bill regarding the eligibility of a foreign nation to receive aid based on abortion policy is unacceptable. It is not in our nation’s best interest to dictate such sensitive policy throughout the globe. Foreign aid must go to where it is needed most, to help alleviate suffering and provide humanitarian assistance to the poorest of us, regardless of their government’s stance on issues. Partisan politics cannot continue to tarnish America’s reputation of true egalitarianism.

Worthy causes obfuscated in a bundle. All this does is remove accountability from our legislators who get to hide their pet projects in the maze of details. The stuffing in this turkey seems to be mostly righteous and good so I can support it, but I do not like this way of doing business.

There should be NO VOTES on anything except Covid related efforts. The 600 bucks weekly aid is disappearing tonight and Mitch and the Republican Party are going home for the weekend and apparently could give a flying fuck. People need help through no fault of their own. This party will enjoy a special place in hell when this is over.

I don’t approve of this funding. Bcz the administration has not shown accountability in any areas and continues to defy the congress by not reporting accurately or moving authorized funding from targeted areas to using fund to intimidate, bully or attack people with the money we pay to serve and protect. Now we understand that the WH has hired mercenaries/militia to attack demonstrators in Portland, just like Other dictators do around the world, ie Russia, Turkey, China, etc.. etc.. where is congress to check on the WH? Congress DO NOT RUBBER STAMP FUNDING FOR THIS ADMINISTRATION. YOU ARE BECOMING AN ENABLER OF LAWLESSNESS AND NO ACCOUNTABILITY AND A O LOT MORE MISDEEDS.

I wish I could say yes, but with everything going on some things have to go on the back burner. I’m sorry for those who might have to be furloughed or laid off. The country has to get back on track and right now until people get back to work we have to tighten our financial belt. It’s obvious Democrats want and are pushing for a financial collapse to try and restructure this country. If financial collapse occurs then let’s eradicate Democrats who are trying to destroy us all and start over holding fast to the constitution and freedoms and equality the framers intended!! Separate the country or let each state become its own country—it would certainly be better than anything reprobated Democrats have to offer.

Enough for the military already! So far the EOA appears to be working for industrial interests to poison the environment under this administration. It’s cost enough already!

Why are there so many different spending bills? Is congress unable to produce a budget? I wish that congress would do the work of the people instead of all the pandering and vote buying. We cannot afford the continuous fighting and bickering of the children that think they know better than us.

While all these Bill's recently submitted and voted on are things that need addressing. I find it frustrating that they are taking presedent over the big boulder in the room. Please focus on the sinking ship, before you try to save the dishes and furniture. AMERICANS ARE WATCHING ALL THIS.
