It /sounds like/ this is essentially to analyze in-airport traffic flow to determine weak points vulnerable to attack, which isn't a terrible idea, but given the timing of the proposal so soon after attempting to ban anyone from majority-Muslim countries, I suspect there's something more sinister buried in the legal jargon.

This appears to be an attempt to rewrite the 2012 security strategy and regulations without any clear rationale. The text of the bill provides no justification. Full text here: https://www.congress.gov/bill/115th-congress/house-bill/665/text

Sounds like a lot of paperwork and no real protection.

As an airport employee at LAX (let's not forget the shooting), I obviously believe airports should be a safe place, but I cannot support something that lists "and other purposes."

While I agree something may be wrong with the actual bill, as of now we need better airport security.

My question is who gave the authority to do retina scans, more data collecting on us at airports. NSA should be abolished and placed in the private sector.

Seems like a roundabout way to crack down on protesters at airports.

I disagree with anything that gives more power to DHS and CBP during times like these. Please vote no!

Where to begin...? The TSA: talk about a group that treats you as guilty until proven innocent (i get it, it's not all TSA agents). What other organization gets to search every individual without provocation? Without more information, I will need to say nay until a better explanation is given. Maybe it's the verbiage or maybe it's the app.

Transportation Security Administration, FAA, National Transportation Safety Administration!?! Who, what? Overlap. Redundancy?! Excessive interference. Deficit spending run amuck. Start eliminating something somewhere please!

Please don't give the executive branch any more power. They are dangerously out of control.

With the timing of this bill in relation to the recent airport protests I do not support it. I might if the wording were more specific.

I want to vote yes but this sounds like a sneak bill - security at our airports must be improved as anyone can walk into baggage claim at any given time. This is 2017 - let's make airports SAFE.

I am saying no as this bill needs to be refined and clarified. My question why aren't the airports doing this themselves?
