Taxpayers deserve to know how federal agencies spend their money. These reports would give the public more insight into how federal programs are run

It's our money, and we have a should right to know where it goes. The concept of tax is to "invest" in the government, and it will assist with protection and services. Seeing as many of our dollars underwrite welfare and other programs, the least they could do is tell us where it's going.

Hooray for Rep. Tim Walberg (R-MI)! It's always refreshing to see that SOMEONE in the federal government remembers that they're spending OUR hard-earned dollars on OUR federal government! He apparently also realizes that it is in keeping with the highest ideals envisioned by our wise founding fathers that We the People not be ignorant of where our money is going or WHY it is going "there"!
The more people who get involved with what goes on in the federal (also state and local) government, the better off we are likely to be. Ignorance, apathy, and complacency are some of FREEDOM's greatest enemies! They're partly why we now have social engineers indoctrinating our children, our military, and society in general with Communist/globalist/atheist ideologies. It also is what has facilitated the infiltration of our nation by Islamic supremacists.
We have brains; let's USE them! Nor are we robots, programmed by our masters. We need not simply wring our hands and assume we are powerless to do anything about the corruption, waste, and outright TREASON that goes on in OUR government(s)!
It's time for the people of this (once) great nation to also remember that ALL of the blessings we have hitherto enjoyed come from our Creator! We have been bullied, cajoled and coerced into removing God from nearly every public institution and gathering!

To those of you who would cry "separation of church and state," you show your ignorance of our Constitution and our history! You have swallowed the deceptions of the very Communists, atheists, globalists, and other elements of our society who would like to take God's place and exercise dominion over us.
The Constitution merely provides insurance that the government shall not elevate ONE set of beliefs and impose it upon those who ascribe to a DIFFERENT set of beliefs. What has transpired, however, is that our government has virtually succeeded in elevating atheism and is actively endeavoring to suppress all expressions of our Judeo-Christian heritage, beliefs, and values! THIS MUST STOP, OR WE WILL END UP LIKE NORTH KOREA, CHINA OR ANY OTHER COUNTRY UNDER THE BOOT OF A DICTATOR!

Great idea. But is it feasible? Can't believe my Federal Government would want me looking under the hood of a private slush fund. But still thinking as a citizen this project would be a valuable project to get those nutrient sucking weeds out of our garden.

Increasing federal agency reporting requirements will burden them with more work and take resources away from administering the programs they report on.

There is already documentation on the agencies and how they spend money and by program what they accomplish. This bill is redundant, unnecessary, and a waste of time and money. It says more about the ignorance of the author than any benefit it would produce.

Taxpayers that are interested in knowing how tax dollars are spent, should be able to request a report outlining all programs that are being funded.
Increased transparency holds legislators accountable and allows for a more informed public.

It's MY money, they are my employees. It is my right to know how they are spending it.
This is already handled by & budgeted for through the GAO (Government Accountability Office) -- an independent, nonpartisan agency. So this begs the question: why is the House spending political capital & passing legislation that duplicates another agency's function & responsibility?
The fact that our government doesn't know this information already tells me that I can't trust the government to get this right either. I've changed my mind though. If it's not something they are doing, they need to start.
Oh...poor federal government cubical workers may have to work a little harder and that may take away from all the wonderful work they're currently doing? SOUNDS LIKE A GREAT IDEA!!!
This should already be in place for all to view, as long as you a us citizen and start and account, user id.
Although there is already a way to checking how tax dollars are spent, we need a better way. We need to implement a simple and clear way to find out how the government is spending the money it stole from us.
Taxpayers deserve to know how the government spends the money they use to maintain or country.
