The four Americans who were killed at Benghazi had distinguished careers and honorably served our country. As they lost their lives in the line of duty, Congress should recognize their sacrifice with a Congressional Gold Medal in their memory.

Just as long as you Ignorants know that Hillary’s camp requested they get additional aid, before this event happened! The Repugnants, however, thought it was a waste of money and did not allow the expense. Amazing how frugal they are, when it does not line their pockets. They covered that tidbit up a little, eh? Just do It! It is the right thing to do. They sprang into action without the backup, surveillance or planning that underlies most military engagements- yet honored their call to duty. Just do it! Honor those willing to jump into unknown risks to protect our country’s interests. That is what is important. There is risk of dredging up political name calling and other political bullshit. So what! Just do it!

There’s no justification to saying no on this. They were willfully abandoned at their post and fought like hell to try to survive. They EARNED it.

While this bill may be well intentioned, it is an empty gesture that cannot replace the loss of these men. Additionally, the recognition could be overshadowed by people attempting to politicize Benghazi.

Although I recognize that these people gave their lives in the service of their country, and I don’t want to sound heartless, but what is particularly special about them other than they died in an attack that was later politicized. There have been countless others that have died in the military before and since them. What makes their sacrifices any less?

For years the Republican Party attacked, pilloried and denigrated the efforts to defend the attack on the Bengazhi compound when it was the Republicans who denied the funding, weapons and troops necessary for the embassy to defend itself. These people need to be honored, but the Republicans need to hang their heads in shame. These deaths are on their heads due to Republican political agendas.

Well, considering the facts surrounding the case, most certainly. I mean whether your a Dem, or Repub, the facts ARE the facts, and Mrs. Clinton so sadly, in her lack of urgency and lack of whatever it is, sent them to their graves. And that's not a political statement at all. It IS FACT.
They protected to the best of their ability and deserve recognition in some manner.

A Congressional Gold Medal is a completely separate decoration from the Medal of Honor, which is a military award for extreme bravery in action.
The decoration is awarded to an individual who performs an outstanding deed or act of service to the security, prosperity, and national interest of the United States.
American citizenship is not a requirement.

No because this is a politician ploy. You should only award these if you also award medals to those lost in embassy killings under Bush, Reagan, etc.... Benghazi wasn’t the first or the worst that we have had in our country. If one group is going to be recognized then they all should.
There are no more deserving individuals as far as I’m concerned. Good for this Democrat Representative for proposing it. Countable lists the reason to oppose it is that these “individuals deaths might be politicized.” Really? You’d deny them and their memory this honor because of this? Of course. But who keeps bringing this up? Will they do the same for all the crimes caused by the Trumps and supported by the Republican supporters? I expect no less than the same.

This seems like a partisan ploy. The Congressional Medal of Honor should be awarded to all victims of embassy attacks, under every president.
They should be honored and remembered. But their deaths although tragic and terrible do not merit the Congressional Gold Medal. First Responders at 9/11. U.S. Merchant Marines from WWII. There are thousands of others who have long been neglected who deserve such recognition before the victims of Benghazi.
Hillary's Head on a stick would be better for the families of these people.
