This bill would essentially negate reproductive choice in this country. This is an attack on women's reproductive health care and autonomy. Passing this bill will also open up possible legal repercussions in other areas which could be problematic.

This is not a statement made from a scientific standpoint this is from a religious standpoint. We have separation of church and state for a reason. This bill reflects Mike Pence's attempts to criminalize women who had miscarriages and abortions and this CAN NOT stand. We have Roe v Wade for a reason.

This bill is clearly intended to violate Roe v Wade so stop wasting time and money with pointless bills that will accomplish nothing. If conservatives are so intent on banning all abortions, they should be forced to take in all those unwanted kids and raise them themselves.

And what happens when a woman has a miscarriage? Medically known as a spontaneous abortion? Is she tried for murder? Seriously folks, I believe in the sanctity of life too, but this is getting out of hand.

There is no scientific basis for this bill, it's a disgusting attempt to politicize my body.

Nearly every single woman has been pregnant in her lifetime. Most never knew about it. Many times fertilized eggs will spontaneously abort themselves in the first few weeks. If bills like this one pass, bills that call a fertilized egg a live human, that means most women you know are murderers. Have you had a miscarriage? Technically you're a murderer because your body killed a live human. Also, all fertility specialists will be murderers. They fertilize a lot of eggs that don't "take" in the woman's body once implanted. This is not a rabbit hole we want to go down. You will not like the end result, no matter how pro-life you are.

It could turn miscarriage into a crime, curtail scientific advances in infertility treatments, and undermine the protections of roe v wade.

Please vote no for this bill, as it will affect the thousands of Americans requiring medical intervention to conceive. Our beautiful baby girl is the joy of our lives. Without IVF, she would not exist. This bill is NOT just about abortion.

This bill can destroy the only chance infertile couples have of becoming parents. Infertility is a disease that needs proper medical treatment which mostly involves IVF. Vote no on this bill.

50% of all fertilized eggs are lost before the first missed period. A fertilized egg is not a human, not even a blastocyst. At least Rep. Hice isn't even attempting to couch his hatred of women's autonomy in any kind of science.

This is outrageous! I am sick and tired of mostly old white men trying do legislate women's bodies. This is invasion of privacy, not to mention difficult to enforce. I defy anyone to declare they know exactly when fertilization has taken place.

This is a blatant attempt at a Supreme Court challenge to Roe. This bill is Sponsored and Co-Sponsored by 23 men. No matter your religious or personal feeling on abortion, why are we still arguing this. When will men stand clear and let women and doctors make these decisions. I hope we one day have the education, available contraception, and medical knowledge to make abortion obsolete, but that will never happen if we continue to argue about what's passed.

We determine death by brain activity levels, and to declare life by any other standard is absurd.

How do you determine that fertilization happened? Bills like this started the Periods for Pence movement in Indiana. Pence tried to push a similar bill there, so women began sending him their used menstruation products so he could determine if there was a fertilized egg that spontaneously aborted. Jody Hice, my representative, deserves the same.

This is insane. The potential for life is not life. So much happens between fertilization and birth. 1 in 3 pregnancies end in a miscarriage that had nothing to do with the mother. Some fertilized eggs never attach to the uterine wall. Do not support this, it's another attack at policing women's bodies and choices, and valuing potential life over existing life.

To say that life begins at fertilization of an egg goes directly against science (which should be enough to make sure this bill doesn't get passed), and it also would stop IVF. 7.5 million people are affected by infertility, not including anyone in LGBT community and single individuals trying to become parents. This would negatively affect more people outside of just the abortion issue.

Because it doesn't. What's next? Life begins at erection?
