Blocking the Sale of Airliners to Iran
Argument in favor
It doesn’t make sense for the U.S. to allow a U.S. company to sell 80 airliners to Iran when that transaction has nothing at all to do with the nuclear deal. These are extra sanctions that should be enforced.

Selling Iran airliners might be good for Boeing, but in my book, it would be tantamount to subsidizing terrorism! We shouldn't be helping Iran with ANYTHING! Not until the Iranian people decide to topple their Islamic extremist government and allow more freedom and a democratic form of government.

Iran has shown that they have no intention of following the nuclear agreement. Additional sanctions are needed, and I believe President Trump will make sure they happen early in 2017. This is a terrorist nation that has nothing but ill-intent for America. Boeing should not be allowed to do business with this terror driven country.

This bill would undermine the Iran nuclear agreement by punishing Iran and blocking the sale of airliners despite the U.S. having committed to ease sanctions. If this could make Iran abandon the deal, it shouldn’t advance.

Countries which trade with each other are less likely to go to war with each other. Who in Their right Mind attacks a Customer?

I've lost count of how many bills republicans have thrown at Obama to undermine our successful negotiations. Reinstating sanctions means Iran reinstating their nuclear program! If we don't hold up to our side of the deal, neither will they. This is a perfect way to ensure our relations sour not only with Iran, but with Europe, China, Russia, and all other co-sponsors of the nuclear deal. We have successfully prevented Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons without having to yet again increase military expenditure and risk power vacuum from the air strikes Republicans wanted to implement, so this bill reflects their party putting their partisanry before U.S. foreign interest. Trump himself has walked back on calls saying he would rip up the nuclear deal, saying he will now instead build upon it after meeting with foreign policy professionals in Washington. It's amazing what professionalism can do for responsible policy.

As long as there is no military value with the airliners let free markets work. Iran knows if they screw this deal up and try to take these airliners and use them for the military. Their industry will lose all credibility with any foreign governments.
It is a positive transaction for a US company and for Iran. It helps start a positive relationship. Further it provides leverage.
This does not benefit the airline manufacturing industry or the Iranian people. It simply is allowing Airbus to have a monopoly in the Iranian market. Additionally, selling goods can promote a more normalization of relations.

Never help those who sponsor terror protect America from one of her greatest enemies as well as one of the biggest sponsors of state terror in the world. Not to mention they also persecute Christians, Jews, And pretty much every religious group in standing in contradiction with Islam also they persecute members of the LGBT Community they have openly proclaimed that Israel has no right to exist. Israel is our greatest ally in the Middle East also on a different but not unrelated note they are also one of the few countries that allow religious freedom to its citizens without hindrance I is for this reason I believe them to be hostile and aggressive and a danger to the free world and human rights they deserve nothing and should be shunned by the world community. Wouldn't give Iran the affluent from my septic tank. Any all American company would thumb their nose at Iran. Let them buy AirBus. EU couldn't fill the orders to build these planes- to busy paying off Greek debt. Starve the Cancer of Iran. Or at lease pass it along to Obama as he skips out of office for another round of golf at Trump fabulous course. Typhoid Obama brought America to it's knees through DEBT.

While I don't agree with a lot of the people saying the government should stay out of the private business, especially when that business is with a foreign country, I believe more information is needed. If they are truly making strides and it is clear they are, then they shouldn't be banned from prospering from trade with us.
Any country who openly touts wanting to wipe a "race" off of the face of the Earth because of a "book" is a country that shouldn't be dealt with. Selling airliners to Iran won't make the US economy any stronger/better than it's current state and not selling to them won't break the back of the US economy. Iran has a "God complex" (literally) and is known to support ISIS and the extermination of all Jews. Talk about bad business ethics on our part. Who suffers most for this? The Iranian people because they are stuck under this madness.
