Does The Government Need To Keep Track of Homemade Firearms?

The public is safer if the government keeps track of firearms. Putting serial numbers on homemade weapons helps law enforcement track otherwise unidentifiable firearms.

There should be a national database of ALL firearms, and ALL, including those used by military and police should be designed such they can be fired ONLY by the registered, fingerprinted, DNA stored owner, and then ONLY when touching elbow to nose. This is not meant to be funny.

Ban homemade firearms like homemade bombs are banned. Nothing good can come from homemade weapons.
Argument opposed
There are already serial numbers on professionally made firearms. — and it hasn’t stopped people using them for crime. This is just more government invasion of peoples’ lives.

We are allowed the Right to bear arms by the second amendment!
The government has already proved it's not capable of keeping track of emails! How can we possibly trust them to keep track of anything else. Besides, criminals aren't going to register homemade weapons and law abiding citizens don't need to be tracked.
It's none of the government's business what law abiding people do.
We've all seen how well the Federal Government tracks things. Last I checked they were all serialized weapons that were involved in Fast and Furious, how did that work out for everybody?

How? If it is homemade it probably is not going to be registered.
Ban homemade firearms like homemade bombs are banned. Nothing good can come from homemade weapons.
Standards should be the same for home-made as they are for factory made.
The second amendment describes a freedom to carry and bear arms. The more government regulation, the worse off the people are.
If a proper method can be established to do this, yes the govt should. I don't believe this currently exists.
