The special counsel was appointed for valid reasons and has already resulted in a staggering amount of indictments and guilty pleas. The investigation must be allowed to run its course without obstruction of justice from the White House or congressional Republicans. No one is above the law — not even Trump.

This is a no brainer. It would protect the Special Council from being removed without cause.

There’s no need for these procedures to be put in place, as any administration that fires a special counsel under murky circumstances would face calls for impeachment.

$40 million later, the convictions have no relation to President Trump and Russia. The convictions Mueller has are about everything but, what he was hired for. His waste of taxpayers money should be over!

Special council hired by the Attorney General or his designate, thus he or she is accountable to that office. Special council have the reputation for expanding their jobs and would make a career out of an appointment. Limits on ti.e and money spent should set for each Special council

Attorney General who has been confirmed by the Senate, or the most senior Senate-confirmed Dept. of Justice (DOJ) official who isn’t recused from the matter can terminate the investigation. The only one Trump will pick will be a puppet and Trump AG. What Trump does not understand, the AG is not his personal attorney. The AG is there to protect the America people and up hold the constitution. This is not a yea or nay issue, there needs to be just caused and proof, not just because a dictator wants it and his followers! This is suppose to be reviewed by your representative for obstruction, whether defunding or directly firing.
Given that the Special Counselor is to be impartial in his investigation and is given wide latitude and no end date, it would seem to me it must be proved he has in someway committed a criminal act or committed misconduct to be relieved of his/her position. The body relieving the SC of their position must be impartial and nonpartisan which the temporary AG is not and neither is the current Senate. Thus to fire the SC at this time would smack of wholesale partisan obstruction of justice by the entire Republican Party and would lead to massive distrust of the government from which I fear we would not recover.
Trump is completely lawless and amoral. Mueller should be protected in every way possible.

Trump is obstructing justice again to stop the investigation into his involvement into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election. He fired Komi to obstruct justice and now he has fired Sessions replacing him with a Trump biased attorney. He did not follow standard procedure to elevate the Assistant AJ, Rosenstein, to the the temporary AJ position. This is just one more tactic to protect himself at the detriment of the American people. Mueller and the funding of the Russian investigation must be protected immediately. The newly appointed temporary AJ should be required to recuse himself based on his documented bias.
