Do you mean this is NOT done already we need a act of Congress to do this. WTF what are the elected officials doing besides passing tax relief for corporate America and screwing the middle class.

If a similar report is not already produced OR if one cannot simply be requested by a committee(s) when needed. Shouldn’t this already exist? Does this bill simply make it a requirement to share?

I thought senate and house intelligence oversight committees get briefed anyway? Just clear them for the PDB. He isn't reading it anyway.

Argument opposed

Requiring agencies to report to Congress about the movements of terrorist fighters won’t do anything to directly counteract the threat they pose to the nation.

This "report" seems like more of an exercise in providing confirmation bias at the expense of the tax payers. We do not want to go to war. We do not have the funds to support a war. We need to work on building up our young men and women. Not writing reports that will then be used for more war mongering. Why the baby boomers in office are hell bent on starting another Vietnam 🇻🇳 Conflict is beyond me, but it needs to stop. Stop trying to kill your grandchildren will ya! Their parents happen to love them deeply.

I haven't heard any convincing reason why Congress would need this information? Declare war on an individual? Pass laws based on a report that impacts one person? I'm not necessarily opposed, just seems unnecesary

This is another waste of my tax money. Good thing there will be more of it if this same Congress passes their stay-rich-in-America tax sham. This report will be handed to Congress for review? This is the same Congress who stood by as the president smeared the Intelligence Community and the FBI and did nothing? NOW they are going to believe a report generated by these same individuals? Stop attempting to justify your existence at my expense and go read the oath of office you all took when you were sworn in. Stop enabling the fear-mongering, bigoted, hateful speech coming out of the White House and maybe, just maybe, you will be doing something to keep this country safe.

    Requiring agencies to report to Congress about the movements of terrorist fighters won’t do anything to directly counteract the threat they pose to the nation. I am not convinced of the purpose that would be achieved if congress had access to this information. I'd rather trust in our national security and Counter terrorism agencies to defend our country with reports they understand and utilize to protect us.

    Not sure why Congress needs a detailed report of this information. What do they plan on doing with it? Are they going to send the US military to any country where there may be terrorist fighters? Stop sending our military to every corner of the world and quit feeding the military-industrial complex!

    This is another government tasking at taxpayer expense that is unnecessary. Yes, there are terrorists out there. And yes, Homeland Security and the State Department need to monitor what threats there are, and counteract them as necessary - this is already part of their job descriptions and being done. But the lack of appointments and unfilled positions and budget cuts are already stretching these vital departments, especially the state department (with vital positions unfilled abroad that are part of the information gathering process!), and tasking this report takes time from the work they are already trying to get done.

    Given the level of intelligence our legislators are showing-I refer to the Republicans, here; it would show poor judgement on the security agencies’ part to want to give them this kind of information. We are not fools, and we do not want more war!

    Security information such as this needs to stay within the National Defense Agencies . I resent that this is being proposed using the excuse that Obama Administration allowed terrorists to proliferate because of weak policies. You mean they worked to maintain peace dont you? When will you arrogant humans listen to the people? We are tired of war. We’re tired of our countries infrastructure and social programs like healthcare be cut back so the military budget can grow larger and larger and larger. You favor war because your donors get rich off war. No more.

    Why drag lawyers into Security and law enforcement activities. Let the agencies do their job. Their head officials can give an up date briefing on what is going on. If congress is going to attempt to manage our security agencies then everything slows down to a halt.

    It goes without saying that it’s common sense for federal agencies to produce a report on the movements and activities of terrorist fighters. They pose a major threat to our national security. The tracking of not only terrorist movements, but that of terrorist leaders along with the flow of funds to facilitate their terrorist activities. As an example just follow the Iranian 🇮🇷 funding of Palestinian & its Hezbollah or PLO. I cite these to demonstrate the tracking required of the cross border flow of financial aid to terrorist organizations. Of greater concern is that of tracking the “Order of Battle” of the wide range of not only established but also terrorist organizations which may be in their infancy stages of getting established. Of particular interest is that of splinter groups from ISIS as example. These splinter groups are spreading their political philosophy across Africa, Europe, and SouthEast Asia. These terrorist groups have become more and more sophisticated in their conducting of operations combining tactical with intelligence and propaganda which are getting more folks to join their elements from the early age on up.
