Does DHS Need to Study Security Issues on the U.S. - Canada Border?

Identifying weaknesses in security along the northern border will help prevent criminals and terrorists from exploiting those vulnerabilities. If the government doesn’t know exactly what’s wrong, how can it be fixed?

It is imperative that we assess and resolve all border security issues; it doesn't matter if it's the border with Mexico, or the border with Canada.

Yes. But why study. Geography show there are many ways to get into America from Canada. Send any proposed study money to The Wounded Veteran Program, they should not have to beg for help.

While it may make sense to assess the status of border security along the northern border, there is nothing in this legislation that would require the Dept. of Homeland Security to take action and fix those problem.

No, we don't need a study. We need the DHS too access past studies and just secure the Northern border and the SOUTHERN border.

DHS SHOULD ALREADY BE DOING THIS AS A PART OF THEIR CORE FUNCTIONS!!! If they are not, then fire the leadership and hire people who understand the basics of security.

You don't need to study "IF" the northern border needs to be secured... IT DOES!!!!! There are lots of examples around the US and around the world of walls and fences that work. Don't need to study it, just build the damn thing!!!

"Studies" are an excuse to do nothing. The DHS need to act NOW to secure the entire perimeter of the United States, starting with the Southern border.

Why bother nothing is done to secure our southern borders. Homeland security does not seem to be representing the best interests of the citizens of our country.
Boy there is an agency that we can count on. Have they run out of land to confiscate so Harry Reid can build his solar project? For those that haven't been watching look at the total number of non-performing (NEA, Dept of Energy) agencies and programs (bailouts, cash for clunkers) and other bright ideas congress has saddled the taxpayer with, YET THEY WANT ACCOUNTABILITY FROM OTHERS. WHO SCREAMS THE LOUDEST AND DEMANDS SOMETHING DONE MORE THAN OUR DAMAGED ELECTED OFFICIALS WHEN THE VA DEBACLE WAS DISCOVERED. Guess what....nothing has been done except to point the finger.
If Homeland Security needs to do a study, at this juncture, to understand our vulnerabilities & threats of a weak border, than we are in trouble. Save the 1 million dollars and invest this money to the changes needed. Bills like these, make me see the level of incompetentcies that exist. Very scary !!!
This bill should be unnecessary. This is already the job of HOme Land Security.
Because the Canadian border is such a source of terrorist activity.
If anything we should return to pre-9/11 conditions. We should trust our Canadian neighbors to be just as vigilant as we.
Why? They have 72 people that are deemed "bad" working for the DHS.
Shouldn't DHS already be doing this? It's their responsibility.
Why bother might impede the flow of new socialist democratic voter
