house Bill H.R. 4335

One Subject at a Time Act

'Subject' should be explicitly defined, but this definitely serves to eliminate secret passages like the repeal of meat origin labeling with the new fiscal budget in December 2015.

This should be routine at all levels of government.

Please, please pass this bill! I can't think of anything more outrageous than omnibus bills that pander to petty politics. Spread the word Countable and support this legislation!!!

If this bill was passed, it would definitely restore some faith in our legislative process.

How has this not happened already? The simple fact that we have to put into law a bill that explicitly states that each bill can only have one subject. If you have to piggyback onto another bill so yours passes. That means that the majority of the population doesn't want it. you should go be a car salesman, then you can lie all you want. Or atleast you need to find a new job. It also shows you how crooked politicians have come to be. The simple fact is we have too many politicians that have been in office to long. We shouldn't need to have this bill. Unfortunately politicians have destroyed their integrity. Due to that we have to take simple things and make them into laws.

It has become a trademark of the cowardly in Congress to hide an important issue inside an omnibus bill to justify inaction, lack of political courage and obstruction. Voters are so tired of this tactic. I suspect many of you will be looking for lobbying jobs--another way to fleece your constituents--when you get thrown out of office because of this type of behavior! PASS THIS BILL!!!

A common form of corruption and misrepresentation comes from politicians sneaking unpopular laws and other bills. This law which stop crooked politicians from my hiding draconian laws inside of well intended legislation.

This bill is incredibly important for the future of cleaning up Congressional corruption. Even if Congressional corruption doesn't even exist, this bill would help to calm the perception that it exists. It will allow Congress to vote on a single topic at a time, and make it harder to hide pork in a bill that has either nothing to do with the bill, or is inserted into potential legislation in order to poison the original intent of the bill. I fully support Mia Love's bill and think it's extremely important for the future of Congressional leadership.

This is a no-brainer. Having read most of these bills presented through Congress, it's like playing in a mine-field. The more complicated the bill, the more chance that someone is trying to sneak something over on someone. No riders that have nothing to do with the bill or things added last minute that are just meant to abolish support of the bill. Stop playing sneaky politics and do the work you were elected to do.
