With a deficit like we have? If we were going to spend millions/billions, let's spend it at home. How about the endless list of badly neglected problems we have here? Infrastructure for one, helping kids with a good education so they may one day be able to have a way of moving up in society. Would this funding be no bid contracts handed out to Halliburton, and its subsidiaries. I would hope we could careful and be thoughtful think through all the potential problems of involving our country in the affairs of other nations. We really should concentrate on things that directly effect American lives first. I am so weary of our politics becoming more global and less about our way of life at home. Enough is enough! We have waged our "war on terror" for nearly twenty years and it's gotten us nowhere except in a pit of debt. Rome fell as a republic due to it overextending itself militarily (as well as handing out entitlements it couldn't afford) and it crashed as a democracy, and eventually as an empire for the same reason. Are we destined to repeat history in these senseless wars? Citizens of the USA, please do not destroy this republic in a mad imperialistic bid to insulate our self-righteousness and consumeristic tendencies. We will fall if we continue down this path.
