Our prisons treat people better. For shame. Cruel hateful inhuman behavior is NOT AMERICA

It is unethical, immoral and possibly illegal to not have livable standards and standards for care of people our government chooses to detain.

They should provide them with everything they would want provided to their own families should they end up in the same situation claiming asylum from trump someday.

These are basic human needs. What's the matter with some of us? Evangelicals, wouldn't Jesus do this?

The absolute brutality of this "Administration"is disgustingly mindboggling ......Treating people like this on OUR borders, wanting to make it harder for people to get Food Stamps, talking about cutting soc. Sec and Medicare/medicaid, trying to obliterate the ACA, and NOW, they want kill people legally (death Penalty resurgence)....these "Pro lifers" are killing us.

Yes. We provide this in our prisons. Of course we should be providing it to people who are likely refugees! It’s embarrassing that we aren’t already. It is a basic human rights violation.

It should feel like a hotel, not a concentration camp (because it is currently a concentration camp). These people are seeking asylum, they’ve already seen terrible things, the LEAST we can do is not be their worst experience.

It is heartbreaking that this even needs to be asked.

What is this, a debtors prison, where you have to pay for basic needs?

Yea. My reps also need to investigate the recent three-week detention of an American citizen in CBP/ICE custody. The conditions he described and the weight that he lost should be a major concern for my delegation.

Just because they are illegals does not mean we can treat them like they are animals. It’s important to give them adequate living conditions to stop disease and filth from going around. It’s sad to see that republicans in the house and senate do nothing about the issues.

Please permanently close the detention centers and reunite families. Permanently end ICE. Provide reparations for the trauma and harm that we have caused. Decriminalize border crossings and treat them as a civil issue. Increase the number of visas and expand protections for asylum seekers. Ensure that the pathway to citizenship is clear and easier, not harder. Fight this criminal in chief’s “expedited removal” rule with everything you’ve got. Make it illegal to have for profit detention centers and prisons and for any corporation to collaborate at the federal or state level to allow such a thing to occur. We have private citizens and community organizations that are more than willing and have the resources to help those coming to this country. Hold this administration accountable for their crimes. End the detention centers now permanently and make sure that this can never be done again in the future!! Abolish ICE!

Yes these are things that every person should be provided. We treat people in our prisons better than immigrates. They need to be treated humanely.

We provide better for our prisoners who are incarcerated than we do for people who are just showing up for the opportunity for a better life. You already have a vetting process and if you don't want to let them in then don't. In the meantime at least treat them like humans rather than treating them worse than animals. We would throw someone in jail if they treated their dog as bad as you are treating people in your concentration camps.

Yes because they are people first regardless where they are from. We must treat all people equally under the law! Citizens or not! If we don’t provide these basic necessities we are basically treating them as lesser humans and that’s not right

the irony is that in America, Land of the Free, more human rights violations are committed compared to other developed countries like our own. These detainment camps, much like concentration camps, are holding people against their will and without the necessary accommodation. If you want to get them out of the country, the sooner the better! I hope they find kinder humans in another corner of the world that won’t savagely dehumanize these families and children. If this has become our new “normal,” I shudder to think of what comes next.
