DHS is a. Spaghetti boel of agencies. Improved accountability is a good idea.

DHS is already trying to make its acquisition program more efficient and transparent. Congress doesn’t need to meddle in the process.

Congress wastes huge amounts of money: i personally would like to claim my refund from the Benghazi Select committee, from the Planned Parenthood debacle and for the 60+ ACA repeal attempts. All of which were clearly understood to be politically motivated & futile and were abysmally managed for all to see! Homeland Security would be MORE efficient if congress stayed out of their way! HELL NO!

We don't need more oversight what we need is more incentive to do the right thing.
I think a much more extensive bill covering all government programs would be a better option. This is a good start and I'm glad that congress has this on the table.
NO NO NO!!! Every single department head should be held accountable and it should not take an act of Congress to make sure it is done. I agree with Scott Perry (R-PA), “It’s just amazing to me that we would actually buy this stuff without really having a clue about its efficiency.” If they have not been doing this as normal procedure, then fire every single department head. Their replacements will ensure the proper procedures are in place their first week on the job...

I've lost count of the number of bills having to do with DHS that I've seen. What a mess. Disband DHS. At this point no one is going to be able to control this FUBAR department.
How is this a question of debate?? We allow the Govt to watch and track our every move as they recklessly bleed us dry and drive this country to insolvency while barley letting us in behind closed doors..We paid for those doors, bout time we kick them down!!
Only if they don't have power to do anything worth the results. And only if they are permanent. There also must be protections against kickbacks to "massage" the numbers for some political figures benefit.
Whenever the Feds get involved, they waste money. Why not allow the states more power in "overviewing"? If the States (the people) could overview the Feds, we might become "Great again".
It appears we have folks who are are afraid of their own shadow. More laws only make matters worse and create a bureaucratic government paperwork to slow up the actual work they need to do. Give them a chance to do their job. Between our local police, sheriffs department and federal agencies they are doing a great job.
