Seems like a no brainer since U.S. currency is on their jurisdiction they should have this department to stay ahead of crime that can affect the dollar.

There’s no need for law enforcement, prosecutors and judges to have one entity they can rely on for information about cyber crime, as other resources are available.

This should be the sole job of an NSA organization in the 21st century. These agencies all exist to protect and serve the American people, as determined by their employers: THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. What we don't need is more useless and intrusive surveillance, it's like using a match to find a needle in a haystack, and it only serves to put everyone on edge. We need a security agency that protects people by creating a safe space for public collaboration and interaction. People don't trust the internet enough, and they probably shouldn't, but the NSA's practices are a big reason for that mistrust. We need an NSA agency that is focused on making American digital infrastructure the most secure in the world, because with that level of reliability and trust we can accomplish more and set a strong positive example. Making secure systems is definitely a lot harder than just exploiting weaknesses in existing systems, but that's why we need an agency with proven cyber skills to take this on.

Again, a federal agency feeling overworked. Just keep expanding sub-agencies to farm out work. Go to work and do the job you were hired for. Looks like a department supervisor wants a better desk job and double pay.

NO NO NO!!! We do not need any more new Government "organizations"... The FBI, CIA, DHS, and Secret Service should already have cyber threat responsibilities. If they don't already talk and centralize the data through DHS, then what the hell is the point of DHS. Wasn't it created specifically to close the gaps on inter-departmental sharing of information?

Growing government n4eeds to stop. cut programs and Departments.
Other sources don't seem to be cutting it. Maybe one central clearing house can put 2 +2 together.
Every other agency already has one. Put ing another one in this agency will not help anything.
A coordinated effort, particularly in the training of all LE organizations is necessary. Whether it falls to the Secret Service or another agency or stand alone it needs to both gather and disseminate information on all cyber attributes for incoming and outgoing information.
If you want to be able to teach people how to defeat hackers and improve cyber security, we would be able to prosecute hackers who decided that the Internet is the wild West. The Lawlers nature of the incident needs to and. If it requires federal information in order to do this, I think it's a necessary evil. Better we be able to teach our higher education students how to hack for productive purposes then to fear teaching them due to the chance that they might become criminals themselves. This is the onlywait we can compete of the greatest days of the glow when I comes to the future, or should I say the current cyber war.
We have enough law enforcement we don't need another agency that will cost more and more and we can never get rid of
