Official Title

To amend title XI of the Social Security Act to increase civil money penalties and criminal fines for Federal health care program fraud and abuse, and for other purposes.

Summary

(This measure has not been amended since it was introduced. The summary has been expanded because action occurred on the measure.) Medicare Civil and Criminal Penalties Update Act (Sec. 2) This bill increases civil and criminal penalties relating to false claims and other abuse under Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal health care programs.
