Do Federal Unpaid Interns Need Protection from Harassment and Discrimination at Work?

While current anti-discrimination laws protect unpaid federal interns, they aren’t explicitly mentioned in the law. That’s not good enough, as federal interns should know beyond a doubt that they can’t be discriminated against.

Argument opposed

This legislation would change nothing at all with respect to how anti-discrimination laws protect unpaid federal interns. They’re already protected by those laws and policies, Congress doesn’t need to spend time on this.

This bill does nothing, and it explicitly states it does nothing. We shouldn't even be voting on this in the first place.

Existing law protects these people. A better idea is to ensure the prosecution of any govt employee (to include a President) that abuses his/her position to have sex with these interns.

Federal unpaid interns are already protected under current law. I want my congressmen to focus on bills which solve America's most pressing issues.
