Improving Access to Maternity Care Act

not all of us live in states that value the health of every woman (physical or orherwise), so any extra assurances that the federal government can provide to assert every woman's right to quality maternity care is appreciated.

OF COURSE every mother should have access to good health care while pregnant and when it's time to give birth! I don't think any sane person would deny that! HOWEVER, why is it SO HARD to wean John Q. Public off of Nanny State dependency???! This is a matter that should be addressed by the individual states! It's the STATES' responsibility, NOT THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT'S! What happened to Americans??? WE USED TO CARE MORE ABOUT STATE SOVEREIGNTY! Repeat after me: "BIG GOVERNMENT IS NOT A GOOD THING!" FEDERAL PROGRAMS AND GRANTS ALWAYS COME WITH STRINGS ATTACHED! You people who get all excited at the prospect of the federal government solving your problems remind me of a story they probably don't teach in Common Core. After all, it's one of the classics! In Greek mythology, the Sirens were dangerous creatures, who lured nearby sailors with their enchanting music and voices to shipwreck on the rocky coast of their island. The term "siren song" refers to an appeal that is hard to resist but that, if heeded, will lead to a bad conclusion. In Argonautica (4.891–919), a Greek epic poem written by Apollonius Rhodius in the 3rd century BC, Jason had been warned by Chiron that Orpheus would be necessary in his journey. When Orpheus heard [the Sirens'] voices, he drew out his lyre and played his music more beautifully than they, drowning out their voices. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siren_(mythology) https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Argonautica How I wish you would listen to the sweet music of FREEDOM AND SOVEREIGNTY instead of the dangerous song of socialism! Put on some music and READ THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE AND THE CONSTITUTION OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

If you're going to make elective abortions practically unobtainable then at least ensure that the infants born due to these obstructionist policies are cared for and have a chance for a decent life.

The federal government steps in when the states aren't doing their jobs. There are many states that are not doing all that they can to provide maternity health care. Yes, state rights are important, but let us not forget the law of the land, the federal government. The federal government is a beautiful thing, more beautiful than any state legislature, despite the horrible person we just elected. Back the federal government for democratic and social values, if we want any chance of fighting the next four years. Let's protect our women, because Trump will not.

With attacks against Planned Parenthood and other women's health care opportunities, women are in desperate need of prenatal and postnatal health care.

Maternity care is important yes, but Federal Funds should not be distributed. This Bill simply collects Data on where maternity care is important. States have the ability to do that!
