Please give federal funding to those who need it most. This program supports families who make the modest of monthly wages. Any rhetoric around folks abusing this system consistently and living on it for years is misinformed, misguided, and more than likely propagandic. Do people abuse the system? Yes. Does it happen more often than not? No.

Needy families have been stretched in so many ways yet we watch big businesses continue to reap tax breaks and rarely pass any benefit on to workers. The least you can do now is continue TANF.
Argument opposed
The TANF program is dysfunctional in its current form and needs to be fixed to ensure it can meet its aims. Rather than simply extending funding for the program, Congress should take time before the end of June to consider how to improve the program to meet its aims.

Welfare is greatly abused and not an appropriate function of the federal government. States should manage their own programs.

I'm in favor of a "Leave no person behind" philosophy. If I could trust the Congress to legislate an alternative to TANF and if, I could trust the Administration to not simply dis-regard that legislation, I might come to a different conclusion. Can this program be abused? Sure. But is this more costly than abuses by large Investment firms, for example, which gladly pay million dollar fines, for their multi-million dollar crimes? - That is if they happen to get caught. We cannot and should never consider leaving innocent children to suffer- they have done nothing wrong. They should never be tagged as lower-class people in a class-less society,
How the smallest and most vulnerable are treated is an indicator for the success of a society. It is the right thing to do!

If you even had a clue how little relief these programs offer the poor and how low - I mean LOW their income has to be to qualify for help you would shut your stupid ignorant mouths and stop blaming the poor for ripping off the government . The government and corporations are the thieves that should concern you.
