I defiantly agree. Voting at any level should require proof that you are a citizen. Voting is a right that belongs to citizens.

This is common sense, and anyone that doesn't agree with this is clearly not concerned with the integrity of an election.

Have to have ID to buy cigarettes. Case made. As an infant you have to have SSN. So yes, proof of citizenship must be provided, not a Driver's License since they are not proof of citizenship, just ones ability to drive. And high school/college students can buy a good fake from local crooks. If these people are caught by the Registrars, the must be prosecuted with 5 years in jail and a $50,000 fine. Then deported to their country of origin. Subversion shall not be permitted.

It is imperative that only legal and authorized citizens of the US be permitted to register to vote. An illegal alien is NOT permitted to register to vote in local, state, or federal elections for anything. Further, tho a convicted felon may also be a legal US citizen, their state law dictates whether or not they are permitted to register to vote.

You should have to show an ID to identify yourself. A state ID is free to get, even if it's not a drivers license, that way you are proving that you are a citizen and have the right to vote.

Voters fraud needs to be plugged. In the state of California the DMV purposely left out in the software a no database to do a search to fact check if one is citizen or illegal. Remember BHO telling illegals to vote you won't get in trouble. This is just one of the democrats dirty little cheaters secrets. California does issue illegals access to drivers license. Is this soaking in, the whole state with all its counties are controlled by the democrats. I support those counties that have successfully been given permission to succeed from California. Those counties feel the political officials are not representing their constitutional beliefs. Congress embrace Jefferson as USA 51 state.

Stop fraud. No amount of hardship outweighs a fraudulently elected person serving

Even though there is little voting fraud, we should work to reduce the minimal amount we have.

Only eligible voters should be able to participate in elections. Allowing ineligible people to vote only undermines the will of American citizens. Not to mention that the support of certain ineligible demographics would give certain groups a political advantage.

Being able to prove who you are should not be difficult in this country. To get a job you must be able to complete a INS form showing you are a citizen of the United States. To collect social security or medicaid you must be able to prove who you are. In short, everyone here legally over the age of 18, should be able to show they are eligible to vote. This simple requirement is by no means a hinderance to anyone eligible to vote.

I believe this bill is justified and a good step to make it easier to prosecute voter fraud. My local representative is the creator of this bill, and I must say that this bill is a "common sense" bill. When registering to vote, you should have to confirm that you are 18 or over and an United States citizen. I'm not sure what is wrong with adding this check in the voter registration process, as it will make it easier to prosecute someone for voter fraud. However, I wish we could make the voting registration process a lot more accessible in this country. I remember getting my draft forms when I turned 18, so why can't we also mail voting registration forms along with the draft forms to possibly increase voter turnout? I have no problem with this bill, however, I do have a problem with how our current system of voter registration is clunky and promotes people to not vote.

Eight months later, Leider’s lawyer produced a list of just 70 aliens her office had removed from the rolls, according to the report. She also gave up the names of additional 54 voters who were sent notices that they need to validate their eligibility. But soon after her response to VVA and PILF, Gunter called PILF requesting that they destroy the list. She asked for the list to be destroyed because Cortés, the state elections commissioner, claimed she violated the federal Drivers Privacy Protection Act. This process was repeated in Roanoke County, which produced a list 22 illegal voters. Then the county’s General Registrar Judith Stokes emailed PILF to request the destruction of the list upon the guidance of Cortés, according to the report. Following Roanoke’s email, all of the other 17 jurisdictions with pending requests for voter records contacted VVA and PILF to say that Cortés told them not to honor the requests, each citing concerns for driver privacy, according to the report. The report says the coverup was exposed when Cortés took his next step, which [was to] insist that all requests of voter records would be processed through his state office. In his own correspondence with VVA and PILF, the commissioner said his consolidation was meant to relieve local offices of the administrative burden and to ensure that individual’s privacy concerns were addressed. Cortés final offer to VVA and PILF is that he will promise to provide some information, but nothing relating to illegal voters and the purging of illegal voters.
