A six-year funding solution for the nation’s highway system would eliminate the uncertainty that has dragged on for too long. It may not solve all the nation’s transportation problems, but it’s a compromise that is better than the status quo.

This bill ensures that veterans, who often have health care through the VA or DOD, don’t count against a small business’ employee number, for purposes of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare). This would give an incentive to hire veterans. Please click the green “Yea” button, to tell your elected official to pass this bill.

This legislation doesn’t do nearly enough to increase funding for highways and other transportation infrastructure because it is unwilling to raise taxes. The U.S. needs greater investment in highways than this legislation provides.

I am all for making the United States infrastructure stronger. However, this bill clearly states that there will be NO TAX INCREASES instead there will be PROGRAM CUTS. We don't need social program funding to be cut for this bill to be introduced. We need the taxes to increase (especially for the wealthy) to fund this plan.
We should ALL be free from the pernicious results of the Half-Ordure-Bull Scare Act.
Obamacare is unconstitutional and is a socialist entity. No one should be forced to participate in this illegal organization, especially veterans.
Like all others before great Idea but falls short to actually help the people and create more jobs. The funding gets out to the companies but it's not tied to any mandatory hiring they just extend out the projects to guarantee their work without expansion. Mass hiring for the local population in each location and projects must be done to expedite the work and actually get money in the pockets of the local men and women it may be temp work but it will get the money where it is needed and most effective in getting people out of the struggles, poverty, homelessness ect.. After the depression when they first started highways system/infrastructure projects every able bodied man in these locations was granted work. That is what brought individuals out of hardships and strength to rise up. It instilled great pride in the communities to say to everyone WE here built this together! In other words unless they hire large percentage of local worker they do not get the contracts No exceptions.

The argument that "it doesn't do enough" is not a reason to reject it. It does more than we're doing now, and in a way that we won't even raise taxes. Our highway system is completely bankrupt, so we need to fund them immediately. Enough with the bickering and pass a bill that funds our deeply insolvent public transportation.
This is one of the few actual Federal responsibilities. Of course it should be funded
America's infrastructure is outdated and needs to keep up with the rest of the world.

I think our Veteran's are given a dirty deal all the way around. They defend this great country, and we support our enemies, and take from our own Military. This is wrong and I'm against what they are doing
